based on the last few years of classes and future ones committed, I just hope the staff gets a chance to coach these guys. I, as of many of you, think the staff is what we need to bring the program back. Yes, its taken longer than we all would like but I really think we are headed i the right direction....

In 2015:

Team BA: .262 (12th)
Team Hits: 423
Team Runs: 229
Team OB%: .353

In 2016:

Team BA: .287 (6th)
Team Hits: 555
Team Runs: 347
Team OB%: .372

So, having Simcox made a positive difference, it was the most hits and runs of the CDS era. In 2015 we were last in assists, in 2016 we were 4th, and were 1st in fielding double plays.

The final philosophy change is CDS going to power arms. We struck out 373 batters last year which was last in the league, by far... when you consider that UF had 671...:eek:hmy:

The question now is did all of this take too long? Knowing that Hart is out and a new AD will be making the decision...Let's just hope we get close to .500 in the SEC and sneak into a regional.

Early signing period starts on Wednesday i believe?? Looks like we have a pretty solid class for 2017 coming in behind the strong 2016 class according to PG...hopefully, we get them all signed and buttoned up over the next week.

2016 was his best class by a lot. 2017 had to be smaller, but he got some real talent.

Ranked 35th according to perfect game. Had 11 early signees and I would think all 11 will report this summer. The bad news is that we were ranked #12 out of the SEC teams even though we were 35th in country....one tough league!!

He played really well for Team Tennessee this past month. He is ranked as the 12th best player in the state according to Prep Baseball Report.

Interesting. He appears to have only thrown relief this year, struck out very few kids, was committed to Johnson University, and PG has his fastball at 74 as of last year. Maybe he is a position player, but he signed as a pitcher.

That is a mistake, I assume on perfect games part . He already signed with Johnson University and is NOT a UT commit.
