The way this going she might be the only recruit for 2022 ? and i wonder why hmm!
If you want to complain about this tourney's performances Barker shot about 35 percent from the field so is she overrated. She missed a lot of easy layups inside. That doesn't mean she will do it next time she plays a tourney and the same can go for any player.
Why? and no dont back out and say nevermind haha if you know something let us know… lol
This is not an attack but if we are missing something let us in… and for the record i don’t think this will be the only recruit for TN for this class.
VA: just posting my opinion and i don`t have any inside information, I`m done traveling for the summer had a good time watching some of the top players in the class of 22 and some not in the top 20 rankings. To keep it real i enjoy reading your post why because keep it real like Vol2012. Oh and for one of the players not in the top 20 in the class of 22 to keep an eye on not to far from you pg Yonta Vaughn Bishop McNamara High School. Saw her twice this year and posted about sometime back she is underrated. But if we do get another player in the class of 22 i`m thinking a good pg or a post player that can help Key at the 5. we can all agree to dis agree![]()
I love your Point of views because they’re realistic. Not overly positive but recognizing game and know adjustments and improvements can be made. We all recognize Barker has game but i think some of these last go around athletes were doing too much. To try and prove it with not having it last year and school ball cut short.
The same with Justine. I don’t think her leash is as long with her high school team actually if you read some articles her coach is a hard a$$ and doesn’t play around lol
I like everybody left on the board and love the one recruit we have the lovely talented Justine. If I could get the players I wanted that we have left on the board my choices would be Watkins and Smith. I'm not to concerned about a point guard we have three at the position all have at least two years left. That is not to say I don't want any of the others on the board. I think we need some more talent inside big four five type players which both of these players are. I will be excited about any player that wants to be a Lady Vol because I have confidence in the coaches we have and their ability to determine the players we need. I also like Joyner she might be the most underrated player on the list.maybe we should be dissecting the games of the '22 recruits that are still left on the board
A lot of consternation because the girl missed a few 3's...
All you experts take a breath and relax...Are you guys going to examine, in great detail, every shot the girl misses for the next four years?

Same i like reading your posts too and getting your thoughts. i don’t think you are here to stir the pot which is why i ask

You can become a good shooter shooting any method with enough practice….. The reason I prefer the dip bc I feel it makes a shot quicker, effortless, more fluid, and it does a much better job syncing the shooters upper body and lower body together. If you watch women that don’t dip then you will still notice a slight hesitation as the player gathers themselves… a dip takes the place of this and creates better rhythm. Examples of players that dip…. Curry, ray allen, Kevin Durant, Diana Taurasi, Maya Moore and many more.I'm just saying I'm not a fan of bringing the ball below the chest to start a shot. It's extra motion that is not necessary and leads to blocked and bothered shots. I showed you videos of girls that don't dip and shoot very well. Do you have a reason besides 'so and so does it'. IF you want to disagree with my reasoning, please do. But to say 'so and so does it' is not a reason to attempt a better methodology.
Did you really mean to say you 'hate being taught to following your shot and boxing out' or did you mean to say 'not taught'? Not following your shot is just street arrogance that you are so sure of your shoot that there is no reason to follow.
Teach what you want to teach. I gave my reasons for not dipping and will continue to teach a high carry and release. If you disagree with my reasons than state your reasoning why it's better to dip. And being able to shoot from further out is not one because I gave you a clip of Saylor shooting from around 30 feet.
They can teach that shot all they want. All kids dip when they are young. It is something they have to unlearn. Myself, I would rather teach the high upright method as the kids get stronger. They will have more open shots because without the dip the shot is off quicker and harder to block. I showed the clip of Azzi as a freshman because at that age she was not stronger than a typical high school junior. To me, the dip is bad form and didn't teach it.

But the thing about being excited for any player we add due trusting the staff’s ability to determine the players we need, that only applies when you land your top targets.
Agree on Watkins and Smith. But the thing about being excited for any player we add due trusting the staff’s ability to determine the players we need, that only applies when you land your top targets. After that, you settle for best available. The farther you go down the list the less likely you succeed at a high level. If everyone got the players they wanted, everyone would have a roster of top twenty recruits. Hopefully it doesn’t take until 23 for this staff to land a big fish or two.
40-45 feet? I don't believe it. 45 feet is almost half court. I don't believe she's ever attempted a 40 footer in her life - except maybe as a buzzer beater attempt. I've watched several of her games and never seen her attempt a 30 footer. Quite a few from 26-28 feet - and that's too deep.
Their top target, and your top target, isn't necessarily the same bullseye.
You may need a 15 to complete a cricket in darts, if so, hitting a dozen 20's won't complete your game.
You NEED a 15!
Same for basketball, if you need a shooter and a post is rated ahead, getting the post and missing out on the needed shooter is not going to help your efforts
