I agree with you 100% on this post well said. We will need help from all 4 freshmen if you ask me. What a bone head i am Ole miss why i keep saying Old Miss i don`t know LOL, I think Puckett will need to play a bigger role then all of the freshmen. Because looking at the SEC in a whole it`s stacked with very good wing and post players this season.

I expect over half of the games will be decided by three or four plays some by even less. You never want to depend on freshmen to be the players to make it happen. If Horston and Key as juniors and the other upperclassmen Burrell and Dye, Walker etc can't come through we will be in trouble. What the freshmen give us is better quality play off the bench than we had last season. Where we finish or how we play is a total question mark. You really can't depend on Burrell to be as good as she was last season but you expect that she will. Horston has to step way up and so does Key. Hoping Dye can provide some of the points that we lost in Davis. Overall we look better on paper we'll see if it plays out of the court. I'm predicting us to go 12 and 4 but we could do a lot worse like even 8 and 8. I think 12 and 4 is our high mark and 8 and 8 our low,

Well Key will need to stay on the floor just because of her defense in the lane. I`m sure she will also give more on the offensive end this season.

Good post. I see Horston as the key (No pun intended). If she can play up to her potential, 2nd place in the SEC. If her play is in line with last year's, then we will have trouble being in the top 4 of the SEC.

I def want her to improve... but what would playing to her potential include? For me i kept saying this last year then i looked. She turned the ball over less. She was a great defender. I think what i wanna see if better offensive execution because she has been top 5 in the league both years in assists.

i want a better shooting percentage when i'm being specific because for her being injured she really provide a lot for the team last year

Definitely right shooting percentage is where she has to become so much better her 0.90 per shot attempt is never going to help the team. Something like a 1.15 would be adequate. If she can't shoot better going to have to let other players take the shots point guard consisting of Horston and Walker was weak on offensive efficiency and they were taking around 15 shots per game.

Marta 5 point and 1 rebound today in 12 minutes of playing time. She is only 1 of 4 from the line in two games has to improve that free throw shooting.

On the other hand, she makes a lot of very deft passes. And - has J Walker developed an outside shot yet? That, too, remains to be seen.

She needs to be able to be an effective 3 shooter to be a solid starter. I think that is possible and hopefully her quickness is improved another year removed from injury.

That is all there will be in 2022 if that many with 11 returnees. You try to keep the roster 12 or 13 so yes we need just a couple of players this time. You are right there will be years we need a few more.

Really. If Coach Harper gets a three-person class for 2022, the lady vol squad would have at least 13 players and possibly more depending on whether
Rae and/or JW opts to stay the extra year.

You are making assumptions about multiple years at 2or 3 recruits will be a constant every year ? Rae is in her senior year and came in with four recruits. Yet she is the only player left in her class ! This years team has 14 players….. with Rae the only one left in her class ? I think we will put a pretty good team on the floor ! The problem will be playing time !
Even with only Justine we will have 11 players next year . Then there is this new thing called the (Portal). And the traditional transfers both before graduation and after . If Green , Dye , and Walker make us a better team ? Maybe recruiting takes on a different perspective? 🤷‍♂️

This is her coach if I’m nog mistaken. I don’t think it’s a dislike but more that her signing with TN put more eyes on her and boosted her stock/ranking

First of all …. Nobody has signed for 2022 at UT ! She gave a verbal commitment which is non binding. I have seen more recruits ranking go down verses up when considering Tennessee ! Now if you want to talk about a university’s ability to increase rankings…. Uconn, South Carolina, Notre Dame , Stanford , etc . Tennessee ….. not so much . Just my Opinion

Signing with Tennessee made her get noticed and evaluated a lot more. I'm hoping that every player that Tennessee signed in 2021 and Justine turn out to be players that were better than their ranking.

I don`t see Walker coming back after this year. There are some real good pg in the class of 22.
