Key/Striplin/Pissott/Saunders
We definitely need to look for a PG/And post player to come in during the offseason., I think we’re fine at the 2/3/4 positions but Miles will need at least one more year before fully taking the reigns, we need a Center with experience to come in and learn from Key for one year and hopefully remain for an additional 2 years afterward.
Could be a star somewhere like ETSU... then transfer to a bigger program.
Her quickness is different than say Jaloni.... her quickness is straight line. Made All State in softball for the state champs as the lead off/slapper. Had early interest in P5 schools because of her size and speed in softball before she went to basketball as what she wanted to focus on for college. That’s the vibe I’m getting. She looks like a talented shooter and a hustler.
Her foot speed looks very questionable to me. Always hard to tell from recruiting clips but I’m not getting where some posters are saying she’s really quick.
She looks to be very similar player to 6’1” Allie Craig Cruce at Alabama. A reasonably good shooter with decent length but she just does not have the foot speed or athleticism to carve out a major role for herself in the SEC. If Strickland were to come to UT I would imagine her career would be similar, limited minutes in a reserve role.

When she leaves kids from basket to basket with the ball.... that is straight line speed. Her lateral speed is on par or better than those she's compared to.Softball speed and basketball speed are way different. Straight line speed for a player like her does no good in basketball. If you don’t have the lateral quickness you cannot create your own shot.

If you're thinking she should have PG speed, then we view it differently. As a 2,3 she is faster than most.... but sure slower than others. Translating speed, slow kids don't run 2.8 on a slap.We could go back and forth all day. We will just have to see how it shakes out. We’re all just giving our opinions. Yours and mine differ here. I’m not seeing what you’re seeing in her film.

She'll have an SEC team watching her tonight. Who that is, well. We will see. Brought her softball speed into the talk for those assuming she's slow based off film. She is certainly not faster than most in the SEC.
I never said she was slow. I maintain she does not appear to have the necessary foot speed to play basketball at an SEC level. Not sure why you keep bringing up her softball speed. Sprinting 60 feet 6-8 times in a two hour span is a whole lot different than getting up and down for 40 in the SEC.
I’m not interested in dragging her on here but if you continue to push I’ll give my honest assessment. Even compared to Darby’s film she is slower than Tess post leg injury, does not shoot as well or as deep and does not have much vertical leap. She doesn’t appear to box out at in all the film I’ve seen. Watched a ton when she was being talked about last year.
Are you her parent?
Guys, I really have enjoyed this conversation...Each of you make excellent points, but since we just lost Shade to UConn, it is obvious Coach Kellie is looking for another shooting guard in the 22 class...
I'm a fan of the girl, a big damn fan...Load the team up with shooters and have a good rim protector, that combination will win you a lot of damn games..
If Ace and Justine are on the perimeter, the defense will be out of luck trying to stop them both...It could not be done.
Nearly 2 years agoAce is a 2022. So only a sophomore if that’s what your asking. And she looks to be 6’ if not a bit taller. Here’s her with Kellie from the elite camp from her twitter. View attachment 259375
