2022 Recruits

Her school lists her as 6'4, and so does her dad....Her height is nothing more than a formality....The girl is all ball player and will help the LVs battle for the SEC and national crowns....

Not since Candace have I been so jazzed about any one player coming to play here...

Coach, when Kellie landed Striplin, I went a little nuts on the board, I was so stoked....This girl is magnificent...It meant Kellie could recruit... The doom and gloom posters that haunt this Lady Vol forum, said she couldn't recruit, they were so wrong....

Striplin and Puckett will be interchangeable players at the 3 & 4 positions next season....If we had them this season, I would put a grand down for the final four, but this season we have several obvious offensive limitations that may prove to be too much to overcome.....

If we had Justine and the rest, just give us the crown now.

If they strike out again in this class, Kellie may have to take a long, hard look at her current staff starting with Goldwire...

Good point about Coach Goldwire. The only time she seems to win recruiting battles is against the likes of Oregon, Baylor, teams like that ...oh, and your uh, idol, Jeff. What is it so far, 3-and-0?

To be fair, Darth, I don’t really think he’s your man crush. And I think you know more about the game than the majority of us; certainly more then me. But, when you continually go looking for the dark cloud inside every silver lining, well, that’s what hats are for; though it’s often difficult to tell which one you prefer.

With the 2021 class and so far the 2022, we look to have fun times again...2yrs ago, until now, the LVOLS are like night & day...And earning that #3 seed was major for the program...CKH is teaching and keeping the young ladies hungry...CKH is hungry for the yesteryears as well...GO LVFL 🤟🧡😃

Their games are very different,,,,Striplin is all about the smarts-game, she moves to opportunistic or forseeable openings and takes advantage of them, she boxes out like a boxer, excellent passer for drop=passes, cutters and hi-Lo,, she has a an excellent mid-range game and she can finish with either hand and is not afraid of contact.

Puckett is more about matchups and physicality,,,great long range and mid range game, good driver, but not the overall inside presence of Karoline, more speed than you would think and if an enforcer IS needed, she is capable

Factor in Justine and throw in the speed that "Kaiya the Flya" will bring(Note:, most don't remember but when Kaiya took the Pandemic-summer off she went from 23 to 62) She has only gotten stronger and better...She is to me, the steal of this class,,,...I do think we need a top-five post to go along with Justine though

Coach, so true about Kaiya....She doesn't play and pay the fees to those rating services, and wham, she drops 40 points....Anyone with any basketball sense can see, after watching her videos, the girl is an ace and will greatly enhance any squad she is on......

Looking forward to next season and seeing Striplin take the ball around the elbow and pop a quick 2, or bomb away for a big 3 behind the Justine line.....

Then watch the defense try and stop her in close shots, and she will zip a skip pass out to Sara waiting to bomb away, or send it back to her for a driving lay up...

The variations to score will be unlimited next season....It would be so nice if we had those two ladies ready to go for this tournament run......

And yes, we need a big post to come in with Justine....

If these ladies can stretch the D like you too are saying then Kaiya will have as well as Miles with her quickness wide open lanes to basket. In CHRIST Alone

I watched the game on Saturday and what I like about watching actual games and a highlight reel, is you get to see the overall player.
Karly is a leader, but seems like she will need work on her outside shot. She has a quick first step. Her cousin mixes it up well under the basket.

Not recruiting related for UT, but in the AAA game, the defensive pressure for Blackman against Lebanon was impressive.
Earlier this year she hit 7 3's in a game. The only time I have seen her play in person was in the state champ. game as a Frosh. In that game she scored 33. Trust me she is a great outside shooter; just like her Mom. That 0 for 6 last Sat. was a once in a lifetime deal. This is the first time that I've ever heard that she was any relation to Kensy, but I guess it's a possibilty, but I don't think so.

I noticed the other day during black history month that Nikki McCray is the head coach at Miss. St. I saw her play during the GA TN HS allstar game. I'm not sure if this means anything, but Karly Weather's mother was on that team with Nikki McCray.

It will be like an open expressway to the rim....Even T Key, with finally a strong outside game from the 3& 4 position, will find herself open for many easy lay ups....She will be reborn (not in a spiritual way) but a basketball way...

One of our main weaknesses this season is the opponents know KK and Key are not going to "even attempt" any shots from 10 feet or beyond, much less make them...That leaves them free to either double team someone else, or crowd the paint waiting for a lob pass, or a drive through the crowded lane...

It's a testament to Coach Kellie's coaching abilities, that she has coached this squad to a 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, with a team that has only had two dependable scorers all season long....

So why are they not top 10 recruit?

I do agree with you on the job she has done. No depth from bench playing two true post at same time. Looking forward to watching this team in future. In CHRIST Alone
