2022 U.S. Senate Races

Mitch McConell blew it. That is why I am for term limits . If democrats and republicans could get together , primary these dinosaurs out and replace them with candidates pledged to vote term limits in we would all be in a better place. America literally votes for people that refuse to come to the table and compromise. The leadership doesn't love or care about Americans. They love the game.
Blaming McConnell is Trump's strategic effort to deflect from the poor endorsements that he made during the Republican primaries.

Basically, Trump would only endorse candidates who would promote his claim that the 2020 Presidential Election had been stolen from him. It does not appear as though the credentials of the candidates or their viability in the general election were ever given any consideration. That is Trump's self-absorbed narcissism at work. It's all about him and feeding his ego.

Nobody has explained what McConnell did or didn't do which contributed to these lackluster Republican results. However, it's very easy to see the role Trump played.

Mark Levin: Here's why the 'red wave' was never really going to happen

"I noticed that many of the same people who were wrong about a red wave are now telling us what to think about a non-red wave. The experts, the consultants, the ruling class, the media, the politicians. We need to think for ourselves, enough of the static," the host said over the weekend. "I said before the election, and I said repeatedly here and on radio: Forget about the red wave. Forget about a red tsunami. Forget about Armageddon and vote."

In the Senate, Republicans had to defend 20 of the 34 seats up for re-election. To win the majority, Republicans would have had to "tap into" the 14 Democrat incumbent seats, the host explained.

"That was a tall hill to climb. And this is one of the reasons I wasn't on this red-wave bandwagon so fast," he said. "I needed to think about it. 2024. This is the key. The next election cycle, 33 seats are up. Now, listen to this. Two-thirds of them are Democrat seats. So the Democrats have to defend 23 Senate seats. The Republicans have to defend only ten."

"So," he continued, "the math in 2022 never really led to a red wave possibility and the math in 2024, it does lead to a red wave possibility. Does that mean there will be one? Of course not. But I'm just explaining the math, the simple math. We had about 60% of the seats up. They have almost 70% of the seats up in the next round. So what does that mean? Democrats needed to have some serious gains in the Senate last week to stave off a disaster in 2024. They failed miserably."

Dems had 4 very vulnerable incumbent Senators (Kelly, Masto, Warnock, and Hassan) based on the current economic environment. In all 4 cases, the R Senate nominee far underperformed the R governor nominee. Hundreds of thousands of people voted for the R Gov nominee in these states and then turned around and voted for idiots such as Warnock and Masto.....

Kemp got more than 200K votes than Walker. Warnock got ~ 150K more votes than Abrams. (Abrams is a stronger candidate than Warnock too)

Clearly, there was some split ballots in GA...

Happened in NV, AZ, PA too. A lot of people who voted for R gov in NH in 2020 voted for the D this time...

You're welcome to your opinion. McConnell played favorites and contributed 5 million to a race that was essentially republican vs republican and ignored other republican candidates. I do not agree with him helping Murkowski. I could give two sh!ts what Donald Trump thinks on the matter.

Three words for you:

NINETY THREE PERCENT

Mail in ballots are not a legitimate voting method. Early voting and Election Day should be the only methods.
That is ridiculous. LOL. Do you realize that mail-in voting has been allowed in the United States in some form since the Civil War?

There is no evidence that mail-in voting increases the percentage of fraudulently cast votes ... and every state allows mail-in voting in some capacity. Your ignorance is only surpassed by your stubborn closed-mindedness. None of the stupid things you say are ever supported with factual data ... or common-knowledge for that matter.

Lol you should do more research. Bit of advise BidenBro85, don’t always believe what you’re told or read. You’re definitely where “they” want you.

93% success rate of Trump endorsed candidates this last election. I see you're still jealous.
I see you are still counting Republican candidates that Trump did not actually endorse or campaign for ... in states and districts which were always safe for the Republicans.

Are you really this detached from what is going on? Kari Lake is going down in the next hour or so in Arizona ... chew on that one for a while. Trump's hand-picked candidates have done nothing but lose in this election cycle - in races that Republicans should have had.

I think most people realize that Brit Hume of Fox News is not a liberal.

"Republicans have over-played their hand on abortion. There were too many calls for complete abortion bans by Republican Governors, with no exceptions allowed for pregnancies which resulted from a rape or incest. This served to galvanize Democratic Party support among independents, especially in Michigan and Pennsylvania, where polls show that voters overwhelmingly favor abortion rights."

Not just abortion, the GOP went too far-right on the culture war stuff as well.

And it still doesn't strike you as odd that they haven't finished counting votes a week after election day in some places?

It is taking much longer than it should in states like Arizona, which have fewer than 3 million ballots to count.
It’s inexcusable for it to take this long in 2022. I’m not into all the conspiracy theories (they have caused more harm for the GOP than anything), but until this issue is fixed results will continue to be questioned.
