2022 U.S. Senate Races

It's an interesting move - seeing defections from both parties as they move towards appeasing the extremes rather than the middle road where most citizens reside

Bye Felicia.

Just hope she doesn't muck up her next election. She'd get primaried as a Dem. If she runs as an independent, she'll siphon off enough votes to kill the Dem candidate.

She's definitely not going to win re-election because she is no longer popular among Democrats and was never that popular among Republicans. She crossed the aisle too many times. Of course it didn't change the way Republicans felt about her but it did change the way D's felt about her.

She's literally the thing everybody claims to want to see in DC, but when it happens in real life, nobody likes her. I'm surprised to see people like @GAVol dogging her, even. Of course the Dems feel betrayed and burned because they're in a cult.

Just to be clear…. I don’t mean she’s politically wacko. She’s just “out there”. It felt like she was probably leaving so she could head to a cosplay meeting.

I would have respected her decision more if she had announced her intentions before Democrats gained a 51st Senate seat. Waiting until after the Georgia runoff, makes it appear as though she is worried about losing some of her leverage over the chamber.

Sinema's break with the Democratic Party may not help her as much as she'd like

NPR found an interesting old quote from Kyrsten Sinema from 2004. She first made a name for herself by organizing large protests of the Iraq War from 2003-2006. In 2004, Sen. Joe Lieberman lost his Senate Primary bid for the Democratic Party nomination to anti-war Ned Lamont. Lieberman switched to Independent and won the general election that fall - retaining his seat.

This is what Kyrsten Sinema had to say about Joe Lieberman at the time :

"He's a shame to Democrats. I don't even know why he's running. He seems to want to get Republicans voting for him - what kind of strategy is that?"

-- Kyrsten Sinema, 2004

Fetterman is in the hospital. He was never fit to serve. Democrats have low standards for the ones who do have standards.

Hopefully it was just a precaution.
After announcing that a person had been hospitalized, your first inclination was to give political commentary ... but then, as if to separate yourself from your own tastelessness, you threw in the cleansing agent of "Hopefully it was just a precaution."

Sad.

He was never fit to serve, but I don't wish ill will of him. Again he was never fit to serve - policy or health wise.

Fetterman is unfit but now Biden, I don't know if I've ever rooted against a corrupt idiot as hard before.

Your previous post revealed an eagerness to turn the man's medical misfortune into a political victory. Any mature adult should be better than that.

The far left used him like they used biden

Do you have proof that John Fetterman was forced into running for public office against his own free will? There is nothing on the public record which suggests that. Do you know him personally, or know someone close to him? It seems like you would have to, in order for your assessment to be well-informed analysis.

I am skeptical that the concern for John Fetterman's health being expressed by Clay Travis is genuine. I think it is much more likely that this is an example of political opportunism. Does anyone truly believe that Clay Travis cares if Fetterman dies? Of course not. Fetterman's most recent misfortune presents conservatives with an opportunity to score some cheap political points, and there are some immoral people among them who are willing to exploit that. It's disgusting.

He didn’t have the mental capacity to run. Anyone who voted for him deserves what they are getting.

He had the mental capacity to defeat Dr. Mehmet Oz and win the election. What does that say about Dr. Oz? Not much.

... and deserves what they are getting?

They are getting Democratic Party control of the Senate, because they did not want Republicans to be in control, with Sen. Mitch McConnell as the Senate Majority Leader again. That was the primary case in voting for Fetterman in the first place.

Says more about your cult to me.
