You know GT,,,this is setting up to be a female version of KY/Calipari

only with one or two year players through the portal instead of #1's and 2's recruited.

It becomes a "sum of the parts" team until it grows into a "whole" team...But a good coach can make this happen.

So we are down to Nichols and ADR? ADR makes me the most nervous. SC and LSU are throwing big cash around but she has visited TN more than the other schools. Hopefully we hear good news

Ummm, Cal has two top ten high school players in 22 and another in the 20s. He has two of the top ten and a 20 something for 2023 including number 1. He is the heavy favorite for 2 other top ten including a top five even after the chief competitor hired the recruit’s grandfather.

No one has done this through the portal yet,,,too new a process is the "open portal"
If you are quick to manage talent then this is a good strategy.
We all expect Coach K to be a Pat-bot bc she was taught under Pat's eye,,,but every coach/player/team is unique and so will be Kellie.
This could be fun to watch

Shaylee Gonzales from BYU, Sonya Morris from DePaul, and Taylor Jones from Oregon State. Those are the big names and all 3 have 1st team all conference potential. Their offense should be miles ahead of where it was last season.[/QUOTE
I don't think Shaylee Gonzales is eligible this year

I have come to the conclusion we are going to have no high school recruits this cycle...Way too much worry and predictions going on around here....Everyone just relax, and let Kellie and her staff take care of their future needs.

I think we land Nichols

ADR no clue even with her visiting recently

What I want to know is where all of the recruits are at that many of you were saying we would have in the 2023 class??? Not happy about this at all, but I’m not seeing the results. All I hear mostly is a bunch of excuses. There’s too much NIL…you all really think that Virginia and Alabama are throwing around NIL money to high school WBB recruits? We lost Cody to Bama and McGhee and Johnson to UVA. When does it start to be a problem? When will it be okay to admit that recruiting is a problem? The strategy they are using is not working. It’s not! Sorry if saying this makes me a negavol or troll, but I call it like I see it.

It's been a problem from the beginning....

Kellie is rebuilding a brand and has the current talent to do it. I believe she has to be very careful with who joins this new union. So, if that means we clean house in the portal, so be it. There’s a reason why things are going they way they are going and NONE OF YOU KNOW THE REASON! A lot of you need to calm the heck down!

Before, it was that the assistants needed time to build relationships and that our year was 2023. Now, it’s Kellie is being careful who joins the team? I’m pretty sure everyone on our list was offered a scholarship and we would have taken their commitment if they wanted to come here. If there is a hidden reason why Kellie is pushing away potential recruits it sure would be nice to know what that is. Perception is reality and it looks really bad that she can hardly get any high school recruits. Building the team thru the portal is risky and the foundation should be players you have an established relationship with and who want to be here….then sprinkle in a few additions who fit the culture. But the idea that we are turning away great players because of some hidden reason is laughable…the reason…we are not getting it done. The coaches are not selling the program well enough. Dispute all you want but where are the commitments? At this point, where is the commitment? There are plenty of coaches who have done very little at their school and are still getting commitments. If someone has the goods on why we are scaring away the great talent, feel free to share. It’s sad. We are a great program in the history of WBB and it shouldn’t be this hard to get players. Something needs to change. I will ask one more time, at what point do people start questioning the recruiting???

I hardly think being in the final two or three for numerous top recruits is “scaring” them away. I am not an insider who would have info on dirty recruiting or NIL money being thrown around but I do believe Kellie and her excellent staff will get some top recruits across the finish line if not this year then next. I really don’t feel there is a systemic issue here no matter how many folks want to jump to that conclusion. Trying to look for a logical pattern in high school recruiting seems to be a fools errand.
