To say it’s a fact Kellie is not a “top tier” Coach, is wrong. To say someone who does not agree with your statement is saying crap you don’t want to hear, is also wrong.
It takes a pretty sharp Coach to get a Missouri State team of mostly unranked players to the Sweet Sixteen, much harder than for any of the Coaches you mentioned whose teams were full of 5 star players.
Are you “top tier” if you win National Coach of the Year? Do you know what you’re doing on the court? (This is not counting winning 3 National Championships as a player under the great, Pat.)
Has Tennessee had players recently recruited to the WNBA? We have. Do we expect more this year? We do.
Are you a “top tier” Coach if your team is ranked #4 in the country? Well, we were last year, before more injuries hit. Right now, Tennessee is ranked #4 in ESPN’s 2022 preseason poll.
It’s true that success attracts higher rated recruits which in turn brings more success, a vicious cycle.
The Coaches mentioned have just had a big head start. Tara is 69, Geno is 68, Vic is 61, Kim is 60, Dawn is 52, Kellie is 45.
Kellie is not an old “top tier” Coach, she is a younger “top tier” Coach. Tennessee is in fantastic shape for the future with Kellie. This is a big year, sit back and enjoy this exciting ride.
