2023 Recruiting

Yes aware of Tess but im speaking in totality . If everyone is getting an NIL deal like SC's i need a receipt.
I don't think you will ever find out and I seriously doubt that Coach Harper will ever make public like SC did what players are getting. The ones I know are doing very well are Key. Jackson, Horston, Darby, and Puckett. Hollingshead has a couple deals don't know how much they are worth and everyone else have no idea. How many athletes we got at UT cause I know Spyre has generated 4.5 million total money don't know how it is being distributed.

I wonder if because these deals have to be run through compliance are they subject to public disclosure rules (similar to coaches' contracts)? Or, are they protected unless the athlete allows their financial information to be disclosed?

The UTsports website and the LVs website seem to be adding information and increasing their NIL focus every day. If you want to learn more from UT's perspective, explore these websites:

Is that suppose to help though ? Old culture wise yes , new NIL wise no. That's the point of the original post i made. We need to adjust with the times not stay in the 90's glory years.

If true, then you have identified one problem with our recruiting.
Boom thank you ! That's all ive been trying to say this entire time , no matter how much player A gets from Player Z. The teams that are vocal and letting recruits know what their bank account will be if they sign up for just signing up are winning and we are not so we need to adapt. Period.

The recruits ask and know, and the coaches are very transparent with the recruits about it. They just aren't advertising it on social media and to the public.

I agree totally with everything you said a lot of fans respect her integrity and I do too but I also believe she has to play the game that the other coaches are playing and if she doesn't I respect that but it won't get the big time results we are looking for I believe you can be true to who you are but change your strategy on recruiting and if anyone wants to use the look what we did in the portal that's fine but success is high school recruits as well as transfer portal

I just saw on Twitter, under Shane Laflin (espn hoopgurls) that ADR was off of SC recruitment board, as in she has made a decision and it's not SC.
I'm thinking it has to be LSU seeing that Samantha unfollowed her ?? Anyone hearing anything

Seems like a given that is the case if SC is off the board now

When watching Webb girls play basketball last year ……. One of the fans I was sitting close to told me that it was a rumor that Aaliyah and Angelica liked playing bb with each other and would like to play college ball together! Just Saying 🤷‍♂️
They are best friends, almost like sisters so I wouldn’t be surprised

I was kinda hoping she would choose NC if not but it seems like the writing is on the wall.

Never rule lady vols out
I mean Maria and a few others said she isn't coming here. They went even a step further removing them off the 23 prospect list for us. Then S. Williams just unfollowed Rosario on her social media. It seems like the coaches have moved forward to focusing on other things from what I have gathered. Focusing on this team and building relationships with future recruits.

Kim knows how to recruit big money deal for sure. Coach would never unfollow a player just because they took another school as she still follows some others that went elsewhere. There had to be a reason that she did. Hate to say it but for a lot of the big players your going to need to be the highest bidder going forward.

Yes, the fact she unfollowed her speaks volumes. Personally, I think she just used TN since we are on the rise, but maybe that's just the sour grapes speaking...

The red flag to me was the unfollowing it just doesn't happen because you lose a player in most instances. She still has plenty of players she recruited and is following that went elsewhere.

Given how most of us longtime supporters of the program love it so much it sometimes literally hurts, yeah, it's hard for us to understand why anyone who receives an offer from Tennessee doesn't instant say, "Where are the papers?! I want to sign NOW!"

lol

As much as it does blow my mind, I do still realize that even though a lot of effort, time and money goes into recruiting these high school-aged girls and it's a shame to know it apparently wasn't enough for them, I don't see all that time and money as being TOTALLY wasted. We are still getting at least some respect by being in kids' top fives whether they choose us or not. If they're using us -- which I don't believe is the case for 99% of recruits -- then they're also sending out the message that Tennessee is still considered a spot that all the best-of-the-best visit.

No, I am NOT satisfied with playing that role! I'm just saying we still get a little something even out of a miss. After this highly exciting, highly successful season, they'll be flocking to Tennessee!

We need to go deeper in the Bank with NIL period .

I wonder if the Tennessee state legislature is already busy constructing amendments to the laws they passed last year regarding NIL? If they are, to paraphrase a famous movie line, "We'll take what Louisiana's having."

I'm guessing there'll have to be some major re-thinking of the entire NIL issue nationwide since it is currently so wildly uneven across the states, but until then I can't fault any university for taking advantage of legal opportunities to capitalize on their state's more generous take on what's appropriate.

This is probably going to throw a wrench into several programs recruiting 8CCC9D31-61E6-451E-AB43-8ECAF7D4D852.jpeg

The states are sovereign entities. Are you suggesting monopolistic collusion?
Next we'll be advocating for a reinstatement of Roe v. Wade to even the playing field.
