2023 Recruiting

Reign like a monarch.

Reins control a horse.

Searched:

“As you can see, rein is the word to use when implying holding back or granting freedom of action; reign, on the other hand, is reserved for the ruling over a people or land.”

I know Mudcat! It was a bad thing all the way around. Sometimes people just don’t think before they act ☹️

I’ll also add that Kellie has a specific plan that covers this season and several seasons to come. She also has a timeline. A realistic timeline. I would say this season she’s looking to at the very least get to the SEC tourney final game and to get to the Sweet 16. Those are reasonable goals. Next season, we’ll move on to higher goals.

I believe her plan is - given the recruiting push we've seen this summer and fall - that she does not want to take on any more development projects in this cycle than she has on the current roster. I think she is willing to make up for those missed out on the 22 year by landing those top recruitsin 23 and either 1) patching holes via one year transfer portal players in the 22 class, or 2) going with 11 players in 22/23 season. I think she thinks that she needs to reach for the brass ring now in order to make progress toward bringing her program back to national relevance, lest she take less than ideal recruits and be mired in mediocrity as a result. I think she's rolling the dice, and I agree with it.

So since the board is telling people how to feel regarding recruiting since Odaclare’s commitment…..are we allowed to be concerned if Cooper doesn’t commit, and if not, are we allowed to be worried if we strike out in 2023?

We can haul in a big class in 2023 but the question becomes is it an elite class good enough to keep up with the leaders of the pack SC,Stanford, UConn and ect ? You can`t keep kicking the can down the road and say 2023 2024 2025 will be the class. By the good post thanks you,

Who is telling you how to feel? Are you talking about opinions of other posters or is someone going after you to make you feel a certain way?

Nah, we'll be fine in 2024. Even though she apparently has no chance at the '24 phenom in her own state.

And hey, if she strikes out in 24, there's always 25!

If someone is telling you how to feel and you don't like it why are you listening. Second if you want to be concerned if we don't get Cooper of course you can do so and also worry about 2023 if you want to. Some people like to go that route and others take another way it is all good just let everybody be who they want to be and support how they want to support no one has to follow anybody. We all support and believe in the team as we want to and that is what we all should do. The only problem I have is when people come on here and think the ones that have a different view of recruiting and what is happening at Tennessee should listen to them when they post. They seem to get irritable when they are ignored. They will just have to get used to it as far as I am concerned we all post our views if no one likes yours move on that is what I do.

When I was a kid we were very poor; really poor....One Christmas my mother wrapped up a letter to me...It said that when we have some more money to spare, she would buy me a bike, and she did too...Best bike I ever had.

That's how I see Coach Kellie....She's the mom of the program...She is doing the best she can for the girls, the program, and for us fans. Later, we'll get that shiny new bike, if not, we'll make do with what we have and be a hell of a team.

Excellent observations.

You can worry if you want! I just wouldn’t. The team will get there.
