2023 Recruiting

Not ranked in top 100 !!!! A three ⭐⭐⭐

I read in the Minnesota website that she was a top one hundred recruit and a 4 star. In any case, she was second team all big 10 her soph year and has established herself as a very successful PG at a P-5 school in one of the top conferences in the nation, so her ranking in HS is pretty much irrelevant.

Jada Harrison …..

Not too shabby. 12.4 points 5.7 assists to 3.1 TO in the B1G; sounds like a pretty good player

Not knocking her overall game and glad we to get her, but we seem to be specializing in guards that are good overall but horrible shooters. Do they not have guards that shoot over 40% anymore? We absolutely need a guard who is athletic and shoots well by either creating their own shot or shooting threes. This makes it so hard on the defense, and makes it easier for Keys and other post players to get open with all the focus on what the guard is going to do.

I wouldn't be to concerned about her numbers at Minnesota. She was usually their number one option to score and took 15 to 20 shots a game. She will have a lot of help here. I would look for those assist to rise some and probably see that three point percentage get a little better.

The main thing I will say about Jada….. Miles was not rated in the top 100 either ! But Our coach saw something her ! That being said : I saw her earlier in the season and was impressed with her defense and ball handling….. She is not the little water bug type either… She made one of her first 10 shots but it was early season ! I think we have better targets so time will tell ?

These stats are for Jasmine POWELL for her play at Minnesota this season. This is the lady who just transferred to UT. Where does Jada Harrison come into the picture lol

Agreed that 3 point shooting opens up the floor for bigs to play. I prefer the glass half full approach to her transfer.

1) her 5 to 3 A/TO ratio is very good. 1.6 assists to every turnover. In this vein she will be a help towards the ball control situation.
2) She 31% from 3. very close to the 33% minimum desired figure. She shot 35% last year so she has the ability to shoot better than 31%. Three point percentages for point guards are lower than other positions because the point is the player most likely to take a hurried 3 at the end of the shot clock
3) She averaged over a steal a game for her career indicating some defensive intensity.
4) Her figures for 2021-22 are the lowest of her collegiate career. There is a reason she transferred and it isn't much to assume that whatever the reason it probably figured in her slightly lower performance this year.
