2023 SEC Tournament

Absolutely, I’m just saying it’s impossible to say win or lose or root for this or that because there’s so many moving parts that we aren’t gonna have a clue who is where until near the end of the day.

True. It just makes us feel better as fans to try and calculate out our best* path (which never works well in March anyways) lol.

We had the best path ever and lost to Loyola Chicago. Literally the only year a 16 takes down a 1 and it’s in our region. And then it’s the 9 vs 11 in the Elite 8. We are cursed whenever it comes to the NCAAT lol

Last night's games were crazy.

Bama down big comes back to knock off Auburn in OT after some very poor officiating to end the game (3 Auburn players ended up fouling out)

Vandy upsets Kentucky in Rupp to keep themselves within a game and will finish the season at home against Mississippi State
Missouri avoids the upset at LSU coming back from 18 down at one point to stay within a game of 4th

Tennessee controls their own seeding, win and you're no worse than 4th. Lose and you stand a good chance of falling out of the 4 seed, Missouri would own the tie breaker and we split with Vandy.

So there’s only 1 scenario where we would draw Kentucky as our “high seeded” team, basically 90% chance we are playing a first day 11-14 seed or 1 of Vanderbilt/Missouri.

I want whatever seed doesn’t get us a rematch with Kentucky. Geez, losing 3 games in one year to those misfits would be a bummer.

Pearl said Cardwell was probably out for our game. He didn't play in the first one either. Never puts up great stats but he's a big/physical banger. If we can get Broome in foul trouble like he was vs Alabama, that could really help the inside game.

Honestly I don't even care...we could beat anyone in the SEC if we play dialed in. Kentucky beating us twice is a bad taste and putting them out of the SECT would be pretty fantastic, especially if it's in the championship game. But they are a matchup nightmare for us this season it seems.

Just want to beat Auburn and get the double bye...then we'll see who we end up facing.

will be an interesting game. Auburn fighting for an NCAA tournament spot, and a very tough place to play on the road. This one has to be 65/35 Auburn odds.

I want to play Kentucky again in Nashville.

Even without The Zig, I think our lads would be game for that challenge.

We just overlooked them first time, and then had a horrible shooting game in Lexington. I still think we are the better team.

If they beat us a third time, then I will change my position.

The only way it happens is if Missouri wins and Kentucky/Tennessee/Vanderbilt all lose.

Yep.
Considering the matchups, there is a decent chance it comes down to needing VU to win to avoid that. I don’t want to play KY before Sunday if we have a Thursday game.

The weird part is that if we win, we want KY to lose, and if we lose, I think we’re better off if KY wins - and those games are at the same time. If we both lose, I’ll want MO to lose to avoid being the 5 to KY’s 4. If MO wins in that scenario, I’ll want VU to win. If UT, KY, and MO all lose, we’ll want VU to lose.

I’m getting a headache.

So, I am thinking we lose on the road at Auburn.

Conceding that point, what do we want?

Candybilt, Missouri, Kentucky.........none of them scare me in Nashville.

Texas A&M = don't think we can beat them

A&M don’t scare me, but we wouldn’t play them until a semifinal anyways.

We are 90% drawing Vandy or Missouri as our first “good” team, whether that’s as a 3, 4, 5 or 6 is TBD.

Give me Vandy.

I saw the Missouri game live. They have a super quick point guard maybe named "East???" He comes off the bench, but causes great havoc.

W/o Zig, he would drive us coo-coo

I’m fine with either of those…the revenge factor is strong with this squad and I think they’d lock up Missouri, Vandy would be a nice draw considering Robbins is now done for the year

If we lose, we get the 4-seed if MO loses AND either/both KY wins or/and VU loses. If we must play next Thursday, I’ll take anything that doesn’t involve playing KY before Sunday.

I don't want to play on Thursday, but we do have long bench this year.

No course, there isn.t a replacement for Zig.

would be nice to have two SEC rings
