2023 Target List

Geez. That’s a massive jump for Edwards considering how hard it can be to rise after you’re already near the top. What a massive get he would be if we can hold off Kentucky. Just feels like it could be a Cason Wallace type recruitment though. Luckily, Edwards hasn’t called UK his dream school.

I actually think the addition of Phillips might put him being a take into question
Without even accounting for transfers, next year's class could be as large as 7. We only return Aidoo, Mashack, Zeigler, Awaka, Jefferson, Edwards, and Phillips (likely one-and-done). Plavsic, Nkamhoua, Vescovi and JJJ are all seniors and could potentially use a Covid year. The latter two seem very unlikely to choose that option. Key is done. And we have one open spot.

A lot of things undetermined. If our 2023 class is only 4 people, I think you're right. If it is 6 or 7, I think Hall is an option. The question will be is he available when that number becomes clearer. C. Phillips is in the boat. Projecting Edwards and Holloway to join would leave us in need of a SG for the 4th spot.

Yea, if Hall wants to be a part of this class I would suggest he hurry up and does so, or tries to. I would think the staff is good with signing 5 in the fall if it’s the right 5, if you say Holloway, Edwards and Phillips gotta think a guard and big is needed ideally.

And FWIW, if the choice is between Phillips and Hall at PF, I much prefer Phillips, right now.

Yea would jive with what I heard as well, like I said maybe if he tried to jump in real soon they’d take it, but idk.
With as many spots that are possibly opening up. I would like to have Hall. Even tho him and Cade have similar skill sets. Can’t hurt to have two stretch bigs

Anyone with On3? Says there’s something about Edwards…

Justin Edwards feeling Rocky Top
2023 On3 Consensus No. 10 ranked Justin Edwards has taken two official visits with no more on the docket. The two schools were Kentucky and Tennessee.
Edwards is a very good defender, quick-twitch and anticipation in the passing lanes. Sources close to the situation are saying to watch the Volunteers here.
