I expect Biden to be instructed beforehand who to call on, and be prepped on how to answer.

All Presidents are prepped ahead of time on how to answer questions, that's nothing new.

But under the circumstances, the only way this turns the tide is if he takes on tough questions, regardless of the source, and can show he can pivot between a variety of questions and topics, for an extended period, at least an hour, and not lose his train of thought or confuse or conflate the topics.

He's got to be able to jump back and forth between questions about NATO, his age, Ukraine, the economy, immigration, etc.

Candidly, I just don't think he can.

My prediction:

Biden sounds somewhat like a normal person with a functioning brain. Still a bit confused. But if you try really hard, you can kind of follow his train of thought.


Leftist reaction if this happens:

“Today Joe proved to everyone that he is up for the task! 8 more years Joe!!! 8 more years! Wooooo!!!!”


The bar could not be any lower for senile Joe.

I disagree, I think the bar is quite high today. He has to prove his ability to remain POTUS and he can't be looking down, mumbling, long pauses to remember what the subject is. These are all traits we have seen, not just in the debate, but really for the last two years, and the bar is high for him to show that is not the case.

Yes. We’ve seen him do this for the last several years. And yet, a few months ago every talking head and democrat politician tried to convince us he was “Sharp as a tack!!” while other liberals were giving millions to him at swanky fundraisers in the same cities the leftist policies destroyed.

The question leftist will ask as Biden leaves the stage today is “Can this guy beat Trump?” They could care less about anything beyond that. And because the leftist opinion of Trump is so low, the bar for Biden will never be “quite high”.

There was certainly a combination of "toe the line" and a bit of wishful thinking going on for the Dem leadership. Rank and file, I think people have been increasingly skeptical that he can beat Trump, which is 99.9 percent of the measure of the Dem candidate this year.

I like Cracker Barrel, mainly for breakfast eats. I'd invite you to our outdoor porch to join us, but Cracker Barrel told me not to do that. Something about your not knowing how to use a spoon or for. Doesn't bother me, because, after all, what are hands for? But CB is rigidly adamant about that. Justthe same, you prefer Grandpas country fried plate or the Country boy's plate? Just checking in case CB changes their mind.

If it's a dead heat now, it's bad news for the gangster, as I believe if Biden stays in the race, his numbers, even with his age problems, will tick up. If someone else gets the nod, the Dems will regain momentum. And I also believe that the gangster's support is weaker than it might appear. And whoever the Dem nominee is, Democratic turnout will be big--very big.
