Biden campaign insists president ‘staying in this race’ despite reports he’s wavering
Biden's campaign says it's 'not working through any scenarios where President Biden is not at the top of the ticket'
Cool story, too bad you're voting Independent now.I think the point is well taken that the Trump campaign is going down a path of portraying the race as between Trump, an energetic, death defying, strong and charismatic guy, versus a weakened, soft spoken (too soft), out of touch Biden.
And they are catching every break along that path, and they are managing the message well.
I wish. I think Gavin is playing the long game and will support Kamala for '24, knowing full well she won't win. Then he's the guy for 2028. The only problem for him is that he's a white male. The only way around that is to push hard left to atone for that.
I Never thought I would live to see the day when the Republican Party actually become the less disfunctional party.I think the point is well taken that the Trump campaign is going down a path of portraying the race as between Trump, an energetic, death defying, strong and charismatic guy, versus a weakened, soft spoken (too soft), out of touch Biden.

Atlanta is loaded with transplants from heavily Democratic cities, so ATL (greater ATL area) as a whole may be lost forever…and that’s the bulk of GA. Inside the city limits? Forget about it. Their future has been determined a long time ago. Of course, there’s the problem with the elite suburban housewives too.
I don’t think it is strong arming as much as the Republicans have gotten tired of losing and are ready to bury their disagreements for the time being to get the job done.Well, let's be fair. The RNC, especially after the assassination attempt, is designed to show off universal support of Trump by the party. Whether you believe its his strong arm tactics, fear of your own political career if you don't unreservedly support him, or his charismatic persona, fact is the Republican party has really got its act together for this show. Gotta hand it to them.
Now, Congress? Not so much. Look at the kerfuffle between McCarthy and Gaetz at the RNC. Look at the tenuous nature of the support for all things Mike Johnson. Johnson is one bad, non-MAGA enough, decision from joining McCarthy at the unemployment line, thanks owed to his own political party.

In terms of Congress, I would not feel bad at all if we were to replace Gaetz, MTG, and a few others with serious grown up candidates. We need adults, not entertainers. Time to end the sideshow.
And i actually think Trump and Vance will actively try and work with Democrats to pass some legislation to help all Americans, at least on the financial front.
What had really changed is that for the first time since the 80‘s; the Republicans have stopped pushing the culture wars and instead taken Carville‘s advice to Bill Clinton „it’s the economy stupid“.
It may just be a temporary strategic shift; but if they actually govern that way the next four years; it could change the political landscape.
