The Democrat Party has only ever been Democratic in name only. Their only actual working principle is power. From the days of slavery when the Democrats split the nation in two when they didn’t get their way all the way to today when they shriek and curse anyone who dares oppose them, naming them racist Nazis; they have never accepted anything short of absolute power.
It has always been their way or the Highway and „unity“ has always meant expecting the other side to surrender.

And power is the status quo that’s been disrupted since Trump entered. He wasn’t an issue while he was donating to the left but things change quickly as Joe is finding out.

You’ never know it from my accent but I am a Knoxville kid. We moved there when I was 6 and it was home till I got my degree from UTK. Wish I’d never left. But I love the regional dialect. Reading some of Cormac McCarthy hits home.

I would like to see Sears keep progressing in politics with a role in Trumps cabinet…she is an impressive, no nonsense person.

One of the things I loved about my time at UTK was there were kids from all over the state and we were all kind of different.. I can hear someone from Tennessee talk and in about three-five minutes I can tell you what part of the state you are from.. the expressions.. the twang vs drawl, vs the twang-drawl (which sounds without accent to me)

My issue isn’t with Whitmer, though. I mean, I don’t like her and wouldn’t vote for her based on her handling of Covid, but for sake of talking about who becomes the Democrat nominee, I don’t see a path for her, not for 2024. A black lady who has VP on her resume stands in the way, and for a party that has played identity politics so heavily for at least twenty years, I just don’t see how they can bypass Kamala.
