I know it. I know that side generally just falls in line, but this is insanity. They are literally operating like a communist party and people are still jumping right in line. I'm kinda surprised the only backbone I've seen is coming from BLM.

Both sides need to be raising hell. We hate each other at the most and slightly disagree at the least, fine. Don't shred democracy. Do it the right way and let us get back treating each other like crap for other political reasons within the framework of our government. This is not a good precedent to set.

If Enki was King, how would you have instructed the D party to select their candidate? Assume all happened just as we saw.

They have plenty of time to have a vote for a few candidates. They can contact delegates in 3 days, imagine what they can get done with 3 weeks.

At the very least there needs to be work done on a process to follow if this happens again in the future.

That's not unreasonable.

I'm not as upset about their decision since they are backing the VP. In my mind, voters elected the ticket knowing if Joe is unable, Harris takes over. That applies to the office and the campaign.
I would have felt differently had they annointed someone else.

That's the thing, with this precedent, they can in the future. There is nothing saying who the replacement must be, is there? There should be.

They could install anyone they want as the candidate. We've seen some pretty shady business from the government in the past. They could boot a candidate in the future (for whatever reason they come up with) and install anyone they want. Why not elect a candidate, see how they poll for a few months, then replace them if they aren't happy with the results?

I just think, at the very least, we need a process for both sides to follow that will keep democracy intact if this happens in the future.

For the life of me I cannot understand just what Trump did to these people that has instilled such utter HATRED in them. Not a single democrat can look me in the eye and tell me that they believe Kamalala Harris is worthy of holding the highest office in the land. Not one.

And I am still waiting for one of our resident communists to give me one example of an accomplishment of hers or one thing she has done well as VP. Just one.

I’m surprised they didn’t pick Harris but wait until the convention just to draw ratings. I guess the figured the extra month campaigning was worth more.
