2024 Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has a plan to win back the votes of Muslim and Arab voters after her administration’s pro-Israel stance resulted in the loss of their support.

The Vice President suggested she was “open” to discussing an arms embargo on Israel in exchange for “uncommitted” Muslim and Arab votes in Michigan after pro-terrorism advocates demanded she call for a ceasefire in Gaza before they endorse her for president.

Even if you are in the camp that thinks it was stolen in 2020, what difference does it make now? It doesn’t change that Biden has been in office. It’s way beyond time to move on. As far as doing things to secure election integrity, those are things that should be done no matter the results. Those are just good common sense. If I were Dems I’d be all about those changes as that’ll take away a lot of excuses when Harris wins. I’m sure new ones will come up though.

I dunno. Even though when the national anthem is played in Neyland, and I am 'entitled?' to render a salute, I don't. Not as a protest, but because I don't feel worthy. I didn't see hostile action. Those that did deserve far far more recognition.

There is serving, then there's serving.

I totally agree and said that for years. Just look at Trump, it became his party, so it can be done. Or look at the Tea Party..it failed and was good attempt, but were relentlessly mocked,

Fact is you cant win when you dont have a large enough tent, and at this point, debt obviously doesnt matter to the majority of the electorate. But hey double down and say they are the same and end up with monumentally worse over a number of policies. Real pragmatic and smart.

I mean, there's a way to say that without associating yourself with tea bagging....and if you're coming from a position of say advocating "traditional values" (which would include industry and thrift), it's a little problematic to cite Thomas Paine, who wanted to tear down literally every bastion of tradition.

Edit: "problematic" is not the right word - "philosophically inconsistent"

A former National Guard colleague has accused Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz of going above him to secure his retirement on the brink of their unit’s deployment nearly 20 years ago, believing that he would have told the then-political hopeful, “Suck it up, we’re going.”

Walz, now 60, told Julin that he was prepared for the unit’s upcoming deployment to Iraq, but said he was also interested in running for Congress, Julin told the Washington Post.

Julin said it was “no big deal,” and noted that members of Congress had deployed in the past.

Other former colleagues have criticized him for leaving the National Guard for Congress despite being fully aware that he could have requested permission from the Pentagon to run for office while on active duty.

“On May 16th, 2005, [Walz] quit, betraying his country, leaving the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion and its Soldiers hanging; without its senior Non-Commissioned Officer, as the battalion prepared for war,” retired Command Sergeants Major Thomas Behrends and Paul Herr wrote in a letter posted to Facebook in 2018.

The duo claimed Walz further dodged the necessary paperwork to ensure a smooth transition out of military service and “instead … slithered out the door,” with his retirement filing showing “soldier not available for signature.”

To be fair, both sides do this mudslinging. I think it is more extreme with the left but the right engages in the name calling as well.

Fact is inflation now is practically nil, yet Biden is running $2T annual deficits. Of course Harris wants to spend $10T on just CC, and it is neck and neck race. So no, the electorate doesnt care about debt.

The key fact about Trump that many won't admit that makes him extremely popular with MAGA is that he either did or attempted (and was stopped) to do everything he promises to MAGA. I would argue 75% of the stuff was held up because both Trump and MAGA don't understand balance of power very well but Trump actually pursues his agendas. Not many politicians do that.

Now sometimes, there are good, legit reasons to not pursue a campaign agenda (like Obama promises to close GITMO but not doing it probably because he discovered GITMO was essential), but very few politicians actually live up to their word.

Hate him or love him, no one can deny that Trump pursues the platform of MAGA.

I wish fewer people would vote. That would be a message to both parties that we demand better options. Continuing to vote for this crap, even if it's just to vote against the other party, just reinforces bad candidates going forward. They've done a great propaganda job of making people believe that not voting, or voting 3rd party, isn't an option.
