2024 Presidential Race

I think I also take issue with how it seems he pretends to have been some special forces guy too, based on what he's been seen wearing in public.

I mock the fake redneck operators for wearing surplus gear out everywhere thinking they're cool. I'll definitely mock a political hack for doing the same thing.

I haven't seen that.

Kamala Harris said she might do an interview by the end of the month but she'll have to consult with her team. This is another indication that she is unqualified for the job but she is smart enough to try to basement her way to the presidency.

@evillawyer the good news is instead of you swallowing hard to vote for an unqualified black woman, if Harris loses like she should her 15 minutes of fame are over. She got two chance to ever win a primary - slim and none. Not because she is black but because she is incompetent and 90% of America knows she's an unqualified extreme pandering candidate who wants to be the first of something that she shouldn't be within miles of doing.
Same things were stated about Trump in 2016. Some repeated that same sentiment in 2020.
S**t happens.
Agree with you Kamala Harris, but, crap happens.
Trump Voters should be elated that Harris will be the Nominee, but most are not and concerned about Trump chances to regain the WH or losing to a Black/Indian Woman.
Both are unfit, but will make a choice based on Tribe and and current issues. Each would bode well for a net/positive in past elections but this election will be based on lies set forth by both parties and social media.
Some of the votes will be cast because of hate of the a candidate.
Records and past will haunt the candidates and the spewing of lies by both groups will not help but will only contribute to the division in this country.
With these two it makes no difference who is elected the country will remain divided and it will increase until one of these group of voters is beaten to a pulp.
So expect more of the same in the future.
Not a good forecast but a more than likely event.

I haven't seen that.
There are photos of him wearing special forces lapel pins or hat pins, can't remember which. I guess one could claim he's just "supporting" them, but it's painted in a way different light knowing how he's deliberately misrepresented some of his service.

I haven't seen that.
“When Walz left the Guard, he had achieved the rank of command sergeant major, but he was reduced in rank months after retiring, leaving him as a master sergeant.”

Why would somebody lose rank after retiring?

He was tentatively promoted to e-9 but the promotion was subject to completing a required CSM course. He separated before taking the course, so his tentative promotion to E-9 was withdrawn.

tampon tim did not complete CSM skool

Trump just needs to keep to policy and numbers, yeah I know that's asking the impossible but that's his only shot. (not that i think he has a shot but)
I guess he can't help himself...if I'm addressing a group of black voters, I'd talk about how minorities had unprecedented economic growth under his administration. He went a different direction by questioning Kamala's blackness. If I'm addressing a swing state with an extremely popular governor I'd talk about how Georgia should be a blueprint for the nation, good economic growth and was recently ranked as the #1 state for business, and I'd say I look forward to working with strong governors like Kemp to lift up all states, but he went a different direction talking about how Kemp is a "bad guy" stolen election, etc, etc.

Republicans are focusing on the wrong things to attack Harris/Walz on. Average Americans have real fears about the economy, immigration, and foreign policy, all of which they trust the right with more than the left right now (or so I would assume). So every comment about Kamala's race or how she laughs or Walz's military service history or how the George Floyd aftermath was handled or whether he provided tampons to people is a distraction and plays right into the hands of Democrats.

"The Harris/Walz campaign likes to say we're weird. And you know what, maybe they're right. Maybe we're weird because we don't like the direction this country is going. Maybe we're weird because we think horrible policies by this administration have directly led to drastically higher prices crippling the middle class. Maybe we're weird because we wonder who's actually in charge in DC and why no one up there seems to care that dangerous criminals are crossing the southern border in droves. Maybe we're weird because we think this administration isn't supporting a close ally in the middle east and has done nothing to bring home actual Americans still held hostage by a terrorist group, a terrorist group that seems to have growing support by many on the left. Maybe we're weird because we think it seems like every time Democrats are in charge in this century, conflicts in the Middle East escalate. So yeah, maybe we are a little weird. We own that. But we're fed up with this administration, and don't want 4 more years of it."

That would sell a lot better than "Tampon Tim"

In a final twist of irony, I think we are seeing Trump rapidly descend into Bidenesque mental acuity issues. Yesterday's ranting, all over the place, lying nonsense sure raises questions of Trump's mental fitness. Example: He claimed that the crowd that heard him speak on January 6 was bigger than the crowd that attended MLK's speech at the same location.

In reality, MLK's crowd was TWENTY FIVE TIMES LARGER than Trump's. The combination of his ego and apparent rapid onset dementia should be a cause for concern for everyone, GOP, Dem, and independent.

I saw in his rambling press conference yesterday that he felt the need to let everyone know that his inauguration crowd size was bigger than the one at the MLK I have a dream speech on the Washington DC mall.

I hope some of you served in the NG because most of this is pretty common practices and events. Can be a very political organization or very competent one varies from state to state. State politics is a player in appointments. A NG deployment is not like an AC deployment, so it is hard to arrive at an assumption without knowing the circumstance. Used as a political weapon to distract, yes it can be. It is not like the AC and to put it on that level is just dumb.
One example, is that Waltz would never have been put in the CSM position or promoted if he had not completed the course.
He would had to complete the course before any promotion on AC and boarded. The NG has the leadway in State to promote but he would not be recognized at the federal level until confirmed. His pay never changed and he would have been paid as an E8 until course completion.
This is normal practice in the guard.
I personally think some CSM can be Crap Stirrers, but there are great ones as well. So the Commander maybe happy that he did not qualify. Who knows.

FIFY

He started the course and accepted the position then quit.
Every rank starts the course to the next higher grade, no matter what the circumstances. It is required for promotion. Had he not started it he would have been told he needed to retire.

LOL Keep trying.

On Varney just now they are showing that black voters are starting to lean KKKamala.

Just like I said they would.

He wore a ballcap that a SF logo on it. And now you have people accusing him of "stolen valor."

Desperately trying to find something wrong with him.

I once used to wear a Navy Style baseball cap with the USS Wisconsin on it, not because I served but because I love battleships. I didn’t think much about it until one day when a stranger came up to me and thanked me for my service. I took it off and haven’t worn it since. I was ashamed that I had inadvertently given someone the impression that i deserved respect for something i hadn’t earned. Can’t speak for Walz as I don’t know his heart. But that is the way I felt about something similar in my own life.

I think you hit the nail on the head, its not really possible, absent him saying he was SF when he was not, what his intent was in wearing the hat -- to support or mislead.

A friend of mine's family is all from Green Bay and during playoffs last year I bought a GB jacket to wear to her house to support their team -- did not intend to imply I was from there, or even a GB fan.
