We get what we deserve.

I'd vote for Nikki Haley, many in the middle would - the right blew it when they propped up the dotard loser for a second time.

It wasn’t always like that. JFK and multiple democrats served honorably. It’s also not like the repubs are exactly overflowing with veterans right now. The last vets I can remember being on Republican tickets (before Vance at any rate) were Dole and McCain. W did have his national guard time; but that was controversial in its own way.

Trump was never my top choice either. I have never voted for him in any of the three primaries in which he has been involved.
Like I say, we are governed by arrogant, vacuous idiots. And I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
I am intrigued by Vance. I read Hillbilly Elegy shortly after it came out and was immediately impressed by his insight and his personal story. I came from the same world as he did, Eastern Tennessee instead of Eastern Kentucky in my case; but a run down poverty stricken coal mining town on its last legs. In a way, I wish he had stayed simply a writer instead of entering politics. I think people may have listened more to what he had to say if he hadn’t put on the uniform of one of the „teams“.

Why the Republicans are hell bent on talking about Kamala’s color, and Walz’ effing Guard service, instead of the Democrats running a “No Jews Allowed” ticket is baffling.
