I asked if you believe they would have justified in returning fire, not if it would have been the smart thing to do.

What more context do you need? People sitting on a porch at a private residence were ordered to go inside, orders to make people go inside came from the governors office. The police officer(s) were never even disciplined so their action of firing on the people were condoned by the governor.

whatever the reasoning behind the curfew doesn't make the actual act any more reasonable.

If you’re attacked by an unarmed person you still have the right to use a weapon to defend yourself. There is no rule for “matching up” when defending yourself, your property, or family.

I'm not taken the leap. We do not know the entire context. Plus I think someone said the guy was no longer an officer. So maybe he was removed.

No, over the police forcing people inside of their homes and firing at them for not immediately obeying. That should disgust every American regardless of political leanings.

A female Secret Service agent abandoned her post to breastfeed a child right before former President Trump’s North Carolina rally Wednesday, Real Clear Politics’ Susan Crabtree reported.

The site agent, in charge of security for the entire event, found her breastfeeding her child in a room that was supposed to be set aside for Secret Service “official work,” five minutes before Trump’s motorcade arrived, according to Crabtree.

The woman, who came from the Atlanta Field Office, was in the room with two other family members, Crabtree reported.

She and her family reportedly bypassed the Uniformed Division checkpoint and were escorted by a staff member, who was not cleared to be there, to the room, according to Crabtree.

YOU KEEP IGNORING THE FACT THEY WERE ORDERED TO GO INSIDE IN THE FIRST PLACE. The fact that a governor thinks he has the power to dispatch the police and make people go inside while on their own property should be disturbing to everyone.

The cops were given instructions to make people go inside, that order came from the governors office.
