2024 Presidential Race

Yes, but suggesting at the same time that there aren't African Americans alive who weren't treated to secondary living conditions. It was called segregation. Hell, I am old enough to have attended the first desegregated kindergarten class in my region of the state. It was an invitational experiment that was highly successful
But aren't there black only colleges? Black only fraternities? The NBA? Who's doing the segregating now?

Amongst several dozen "Guess what's" and endless variations of ""I'm not joking," "Not a joke," etc.), Biden implicitly endorsed murder of political opponents during his introduction of Harris in a Pennsylvania gathering yesterday. To the crowd's credit, they did appear a little puzzled and uncomfortable during the awkward exchange (although they did titter at his family joke at the end of his history lesson surrounding the Molly McGuires).

Biden is going downhill fast. He slurs entire sentences now like a runaway train about to derail. Standing a few feet away, Harris looks as though she's holding her breath in hopes that he won't totally melt down.

Biden is also swearing more and more frequently, another sign of lack of control. He came close to uttering the F-toddle when quoting his own "bid deal" exchange with "Barack."
I don't think we'll see much more of ole Joe.

Of course for some in this country, a bad person and mean tweets are more of a concern ...

From the article:

The future of the Supreme Court is on the line in November’s elections. If Vice President Kamala Harris and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer are victorious in November, the independent Supreme Court that the Framers bequeathed to us will be a thing of the past. That’s one of the big reasons why Harris must be defeated in her campaign for president, and why Schumer must be demoted to Minority Leader.

Schumer said before the Senate left town for its August recess that if the results of the November elections leave him in place as Majority Leader and Democrats in control of the White House, he will push Supreme Court reforms hard in the next Congress – and he said he was willing to eliminate the filibuster to pass the Democrats’ agenda, if need be.

In a few short months, America’s voters will decide – will they stand with the Constitution and its independent judiciary? Or will they side with the Democrats, determined as they are to destroy the rules of the Senate to violate the independence of the judiciary – to become, in other words, tyrants? The stakes could not be clearer, or higher.

Some may not open the article after reading "Canadian born NY Times Contributor" and I totally understand that ...

From the article:

Szalai’s piece, ‘The Constitution Is Sacred. Is It Also Dangerous?’ suggests that the document may be one of the biggest threats to America’s politics, describing it as “a document that is essentially antidemocratic and, in this day and age, increasingly dysfunctional.”

She criticizes the Electoral College and laments the Constitution’s protection of minority rights as a “tyranny of the minority” and a “disempowerment of majorities” and blames the founding document for being responsible for President Trump’s election in 2016.

Native American descendants getting reparations gets a little tricky because lots of Native American tribes had African American slaves or did awful things to people from other tribes. What do you do there?
I have no knowledge of the minimum standards or requirements to qualify for Native Americans to qualify for reparations. I assume that there are unqualified individuals drawing a check, but like most US govt paid reparations there is loose accountability for funds distributed.
Reparations have been paid out by countries years. Germany is an example and is still paying Israel and Holocaust descendants. The US paid the Japanese Americans Reparations and are still paying selected Indian tribe member's descendants as well. The Cherokee nation is one of the tribes that qualify.

What do you do there? Who knows? I could not make a case for descendants to receive reparations other than a lump sum payment and be done with it. Britain did it and Britain even paid the slave owners a reparation to my understanding.

The reality is that the slave lineage is so diluted at this point who knows. California will have a hard time figuring out who gets what amount and who is entitled. This was a Hail Mary attempt that appears to have worked, but not so fast as it is very complicated to prove that a person may be entitled. I personally would be ashamed to even apply in California, but that is just me.

Some of the Examples for Reparations are as follows: Racial terror, Political disenfranchisement, Housing segregation, Separate and unequal education, Racism in environment and infrastructure Pathologizing the Black family, Control over creative, cultural and intellectual life, Stolen labor and hindered opportunity, An unjust legal system, Mental and physical harm and neglect, racial wealth gap.

Where is the $$$$ for White males because they are just an average Joe and sometimes society discriminates against them because of hiring quotas.

What's next, immigrants will get reparations for being denied access into our country.

That last part was all to familiar. "All these years and she has never checked on me". If this actually happened Harris should be ashamed.
I removed it for there is no TV station in SF that uses those call letters. I am still checking on it though.
