What constitutes “idolatry” is in the eye of the beholder.

Obama had legions that followed, and fawned, and gushed over him. There was nothing he could do, including drone-striking American Citizens, that would turn them away.

The Left will still prostrate themselves and guffaw over him to this day.

There will be zero cessation of Fascist Trumpism cries when Trump is gone.
It will have nothing to do with voters on the Right.

Luther is an insane NPC. He will vote for whoever they tell him to vote for. Which is why he voted for three murderers in the general election. It has nothing to do with Trump as the first time Trump wasn't even running. The next person will just be another Donald Trump. Luther will never run out of Donald Trumps.
