2024 Presidential Race

She should be fired!

When I was growing up playing sports, there were winners and losers. Sportsmanship was a virtue admired and developed by end of game handshakes. Winners went on and those who lost , practiced to improve their game. At the end of the season, Trophies were presented and All-Stars were selected to represent the league in playoffs.

With my kids, everyone gets trophies and it was obvious there was an attempt to “close the line” between winners and losers.

Unfortunately, today’s generation kids have been “taught” the response we are seeing today. “you reap what you sow” has come to life. It’s time to ”tuffen up buttercup”.

Kamala picked him because of her arrogance and her low self esteem. Harris wanted a running mate that was weak and had no way of being more popular or likable, no one that could possibly upstage her.
BINGO !!! This happened with Obama (Biden (although Joe did provide the blue-collar Joe thing), Biden (Kamala) and Kamala (Walz). It finally caught up. It used to be the VP pick had no enfluence on the election. In this case, it did because it was one of the few decisions she had to make and it was terrible AND JD was SOOO much better.

George is out. New Top 5 probably dropping soon that TurboMonty will be along to hype -

1. Lincoln
2. FDR
3. Obama
4. JFK
5. Biden

So here's the actual "top 5" per an amalgamation of historian surveys (via Wiki). Believe it. Don't believe it.

Lincoln
FDR
Washington
Jefferson
Roosevelt

The latest survey had Trump at dead last - overtaking Andrew Johnson. Kudos!

Shoot the messenger. IDGAF.

Hopefully, Trump will actually hire some knowledgeable cabinet members this time instead of a bunch of yes-men... but he probably won't. It's all about The Donald.

I’ve come to the conclusion that there have been generally 3 types of Trump voters:

1. Traditional Republicans/conservatives that refuse to abandon their ideals, so they just swallow the bitter Trump pill

2. Far right and evangelical voters who are using Trump as their vehicle to pass extreme right laws and set extreme right court precedents in the name of their religious and/or far right beliefs.

3. Societal outcasts who feel a sense of belonging in the Trump social circles. It’s nothing substantive in their core beliefs that drives them, but the spectacle, the fandom, and the camaraderie.

But now, I think a significant (enough) 4th type has brought this one home for Donny and company….

4. Male Hispanic voters who would rather vote for someone that scapegoats them than a woman.
5. Constitutional Loving Americans.

Completely antidotal story here...but my dialysis tech voted GOP for the 1st time in 43 years of her life...and the reason was illegal immigration..her story is she pay 750 a month for health insurance for her and her family (husbands a teacher, 2 kids). She was with her daughter at emergency care when a Hispanic or Latino pulled up in a brand new Lincoln Navigator,..she over heard the person ask the desk lady if they took immigrant insurance...basically she was pissed that here she was struggling (while making good money as a tech) and was paying so much for insurance and her come and immigrant with free insurance and a 70k car...and ahe said that turned her vote...made me wonder how many had similar experiences...

I was just remembering when late night talk shows used to be about comedy, and not politics. Sure, they'd make fun of politicians, but they made fun of both sides. Now, shows like Colbert and Kimmel and SNL, they don't hide that they're promoting the ideology of only one side. Do people really watch these shows to see the hosts and actors try and force feed them their political beliefs? Why can't we just skip the political infomercials and go back to actual comedy? Lord knows, this country needs to learn to laugh again.

Just praying for the country.

Kamala was a weak choice. I dont buy that we cannot elect a female, moreover, a black female candidate.

The Country gave an evil person the keys to the car. So again, just pray that Trump truly has Country's best interests in mind. And not his own.
I agree with you there. Michelle would’ve wiped the floor with Trump.

In the 6 swing states (Arizona not yet included in either set since it is only 70% counted for 2024)

Trump (2020) 13,528,229
Biden (2020) 13,754,546
Total (2020) 27,282,775

Trump (2024) 14,172,977
Harris (2024) 13,561,141
Total (2024) 27,734,118

This narrative that all these votes magically appeared in swing states in 2020 and disappeared in 2024 is not supported by any data.

2024 is as of 8PM CST on 11/6 and will slightly increase as those 6 states count any straggling votes
No I’m not talking about swing states., I’m talking about the overall population numbers… it’s really not a big deal, you don’t need to bring out graphs, it’s just a personal observation.. I can have those lol

It is highly inaccurate to rate any President from 1980 until today because there will be a significant bias. Also all major realistic rankings have James Buchanan as the worse because all his actions helped trigger the Civil War.

Wish we could…..Carson was the GOAT and he joked about both sides. Unfortunately one side has indoctrinated our society thru sports and school to a point that it is “anti American” to be a conservative and have conservative values. To pour fuel to the fire, the media has perpetuated this position.

Got a long tuff road ahead…..we can do it, but it’s gonna be grueling.

Does anyone have a process to how exactly Trump would be able to eliminate income tax or the other tax changes he wants??? Would it be a EO or do the House and Senate need to be involved, which I assume would be needed to codify into law or amend the Constitution but would that be needed?

Practically speaking, he will have to do tax changes through Reconciliation process to get around filibuster rules. Same way he got TCJA through in 2017.

EO wouldnt work

Constitution aint happening.

Other path would be letting Ds in on drafting the bill and get consensus that way. This would probably involve a compromise to keep IRA, stock buyback tax, corporate minimum tax. Are the Ds willing to compromise to keep those 3 around? Probably not.

Al Bundy calls this the “Bigger Idiot Theory” which is that there’s nothing so stupid that a bigger idiot won’t come along and buy, but points out the flaw that eventually, you get to the Head Idiot. Same applies to President/VP picks.

Those ”historians“ must have went to the same school that produced the “scientists” that gave us face diapers and 6’ social distancing.
