2024 Presidential Race

Good grief the the comments on Reddit right now are in epic meltdown mode. And many of the hardcore leftists on there are clueless as to why they lost the election. They really think they need to run someone even more ultra left to win. It's pretty funny
They have ZERO self reflection or introspection, but I welcome them to go even further left next election cycle.

It's kind of a weird pact

The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC) is an agreement among a group of U.S. states and the District of Columbia to award all their electoral votes to whichever presidential ticket wins the overall popular vote in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. The compact is designed to ensure that the candidate who receives the most votes nationwide is elected president, and it would come into effect only when it would guarantee that outcome.[2][3][4]

What is wrong with this country that this show is still on the air?
The show has strayed from the original model for sure. It was never my cup of tea but the concept was solid. But the queen bees currently running the show have left any precept of objectivity or intellectual honesty.

It's become an echo chamber of group thought. It's now exhausting, repetitive and shallow.

I've always thought it seemed like a group therapy session for women to come together, talk about problems, and wallow in their misery. I'm not sure how large of a market there is for that content, but there definitely is a market for it.

FDR definitely had headaches (look at Wicker vs Filburn) but both FDR and Lincoln are enshrined in Mount Rushmore, consistently rank in top 5-10 all-time as Presidents, are iconic Presidents well known even outside the USA, etc.

At the time, they were very popular. The Southern Democrats emerged because of FDR. I have grandparents that lived through the era and adored FDR until his death. It was hard to find anyone from that generation that hated FDR.

Horrific president.

But he was sharp as a tack. Why drop out?
Yep. Not sure how we got from: “Joe Biden woke up at the crack of dawn at the White House, already a few steps ahead of everyone else, ready to outwork the entire nation. By the time most people were getting their morning coffee, Joe had already read through a stack of briefing papers, solved a few world problems, and let’s face it, he’s smarter than everyone in the room. As the day went on, while his staff struggled to keep up, Joe moved from one high-powered meeting to the next, effortlessly outshining everyone with his unparalleled energy and sharp mind. Lunch? Not even a chance—Joe's out here getting things done while others are still trying to figure out what’s on the menu.”

To

“Joe should have dropped out of the race years ago!”

Maybe one of the democrats on this board can enlighten us.

Its pretty stupid. I don't think its currently in effect as the number of States needed to join is not enough currently, iirc. But it brings up how it could be enforced or enforced timely anyway, and the Constitutionality of it.

I have no idea why a smaller State would want anything to do with that.

Finally I agree with you - food prices are unlikely to go down across the board. They might remain flat but even reduced energy costs won't be enough to overcome some general inflationary pressures on food.

It's why is was dumb of Harris to promise she'd bring down food costs.

You’re like a child. While being disciplined, children don’t often understand or see the benefit of it. But, in the long run, it’s in their best interest so that they don’t grow up to be idiots. This will be you for the next four years… it will make your life better in general, but you will kick and scream about it all because you’re a petulant child with little to no ability to acknowledge the need for common sense changes that the majority of Americans just voted back into the White House and Congress.
You probably thought that post had insight.
You are like the child who knows enough to think they know enough but not enough to realize they haven't a clue.

Looking at it from my perspective (not the people who would actually ever vote for her if she were the ideal leftist candidate), I would bet all her "ban fracking" stuff was just lip service. The odds of her pulling that off, even if she really wanted to, are extremely low.

I think that's the key point...how you and I view her pandering is not how people who would vote for view it. We had 12m fewer voters this election? There's the dub right there

Or less dead people walking to Michigan from there final graves in other States.

My favorite thing right now is watching the DNC and democrats in general double down on what lost them the election.

Instead of just calling all white people racist, they are are now calling Latinos sexist, and some commentators have even went as far as to claim this election proves the need to “double down on identity politics”.

It’s truly amazing to watch

Yep!!

I’m also hearing a few of these lunatics state that the problem is Kamala’s campaign was “too centrist”. Essentially stating that going further left would have energized the base.

Go ahead. Go further left. 2028 will be an even bigger landslide.

I mentioned this during the summer, all these gags.... have limited to no effect at this point. In many cases, they're having the opposite intended results.

About 25 years ago, I was listening to this guy that was Russian and they were asking him questions about when the USSR messaging stopped working.... he just said... everyone just stopped listening to them. Same thing is occurring, lying on the edges can help you from time to time... doing all this is too obvious and people can't buy into it.
