2024 Presidential Race

lol.....schools are trying to educated people to a point where they can make much more logical if/then statements than the one made by @MG1968 . His was void of any logic.
Educators such as yourself and I use that term loosely are why the education system has turned out generations of entitled crybabies. Thank god for private education.

Exhibit A: The angry, cynical, bitter, jealous, old white man.........the most malleable creature on earth.

Dang..that is one way to do it..lol

This is wonderful. Like the fistfights that used to happen among politicians here. People passionate enough about their homelands to actually fight for them instead of just complaining.

Also reminds me of Native Americans. The war paint and battle cries when they came to kill folks had to be absolutely horrific. I am sure people crapped their pants and peed themselves, especially European settlers headed west. Many of them must have been frozen in fear as well. While the Dems always play up the slavery aspect of American history (only for blacks, not asians, irish etc) the Natives on this land are the ones who really got mistreated and slaughtered. The plight of the 2 peoples isnt even comparable IMO.

Thankfully the entire curriculum can be put in one book K-12

“When one considers what the public schools of America in many places already are--their materialism, their discouragement of any sustained intellectual effort, their encouragement of the dangerous pseudoscientific fads of experimental psychology--one can only be appalled by the thought of a commonwealth in which there is no escape from such a soul-killing system.” J. Manchen 1923

Schools may be TRYING; but they aren’t succeeding, especially in basic knowledge and skills.
I know the education I got in the 70s and 80s and I saw the education my children got in the 2010s. Believe me; there is NO comparison.
Any remaining excellence went out the door with covid and remote learning 😳
Hey, but at least kids ARE “learning” that gender is a social construct; that white people are inherently evil, and that men can have babies.
So what if they don’t know who Che was, right?

So I am late to the conversation. Did someone really not know who Che was?
Apparently Luther didn't know. Which I actually believe. It is easier to understand people at the extremes (either direction) when I realize they don't understand the horrors inflicted by the extremes. Not knowing Che makes leftist ideology more palatable, I surmise.

I also learned Luther is/has been a teacher. That also makes sense to me. I have often read Luther's posts and thought his positions and rationale sounded exactly like so many of my teacher friends' positions and reasoning.

We all learned things today. 👍

I had no clue who Che was. And I went to school in the 70's - received a great education.

I'm about to conclude that Che is yet one more, among many, boogeymen to the right-wing.

I looked him up - nothing that makes him a big historical figure worth noting.

Red Wave Crashes Down On Ballot Measures

The left sees setbacks on abortion, drug legalization, minimum wage and election-process questions from coast to coast.

The red wave that helped propel Donald Trump into the White House and likely handed Republicans control of Congress left ripple effects on the slate of nearly 150 ballot measures across the country.

Abortion-rights activists suffered their first defeats at the ballot box since the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision in 2022, and other progressive priorities, too, faltered when put directly before voters.

Efforts to replace partisan nominating contests with open primaries and introduce ranked choice voting appeared to be failing in all but the District of Columbia. Measures to legalize cannabis went down in three of the four states in which they were on the ballot. Minimum-wage increases were on track to be rejected in California and Massachusetts — though, ironically, they succeeded in some conservative states. And in a year when crime and immigration played a major role in the national campaign, voters in states with ballot measures addressing those questions — including deep-blue California — opted for right-leaning positions.

There's a reason people are a bit taken aback by your take.

Let’s Hear It For The Straight White Boys Who Saved Us From Kamala

Kamala Harris, like Hillary Clinton, represented the face of the oppressive, suffocating girl boss regime — and boys were sick of it.

White Boy Summer just got extended for at least four more years. The War on Boys that started decades ago has finally ended; the boys won decisively on Nov. 5, 2024. Young guys (18-29) shifted 29 points to the right since 2020!
