2024 Presidential Race

You're hurting. With a doctor's schedule, high pressure, high stress. I admire yuu for taking the small window of time you have to share with us on VN.

Be well.
Admittedly, I can't post all day like a bunch of the regulars, but I bleed Orange, am personal friends with many of the OGs, and enjoy most of the discussion here.

I have lost two kids in the past month, which thankfully happens very rarely in my field.... one with a sudden brain aneurysm and one after a long fight with a nasty brain tumor. Walking that path with their families is horrible, but I'm thankful that I have been able to share in their pain, offer whatever empathy affords, and help when I am able. It's the least I can do after all they have allowed me through the trust of my care.

I'm sorry to read that. My condolences to you and your family.

wife was diagnosed with glioblastoma in March
surgery on 11 March
maybe the most brutal thing I've ever seen
can't imagine a child going through this

Very sorry to hear this. How is she doing? I will be praying for her and your family.

I lost a close friend and VFL about 5 years ago to a rare brain tumor. Devastating and so hard to understand. I miss him every day. Cancer sucks.

thanks for asking
the aphasia is bad...glioblastoma was left side...about 1/8 of left frontal lobe was removed (so that's language side)
we're not sure what she knows, but she has severe receptive and expressive aphasia
physically, she was up to 250 steps, but her PEG tube came out, she had MRSA and a UTI and had to be readmitted to the hospital
now waiting on insurance to approve a skilled nursing facility

It started with what they thought was "encephalitis' in November and threw ampicillin and amox at it.
Before we could get her back in for another MRI to see if the swelling had gone down, it was too late.

The line about some things being grossly misinterpreted leaves questions, but she doesn't say that anything was forged or tampered with as I would expect her to, if that had occurred ..... So sure, I guess it's legit.
Never give up the fight. I need more rings.

Fight like hell for her, and don't let the insurance company push you around. Again, I'm so sorry that she is going through this.

It does suck. I was diagnosed late last year. Initially they thought I had stage 4 lung cancer. After 3 procedures to get a viable biopsy they ruled out lung cancer and thought I had non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Not being 100% they did another procedure and while the pathologists took their sweet time I had to be put on life support not able to breathe. Eventually they determined I have a rare lymphoma and administered chemo the 2nd day I was on life support. It saved my life. That said I was on life support for 3 weeks, lost over 60 pounds, and suffered from a severe case of critical illness myopathy. I was essentially paralyzed for almost 3 months with a feeding tube and trach unable to speak. Went through a lot of rehab and eventually made it home. Still a long ways to go but I’m halfway through my chemo treatments and the oncologist has a positive outlook.

The corruption of our own government & the democrats love every minute of it.

I have an online acquaintance with a couple that live in Kiev.
They are always posting videos of walking the dogs, going to the park. Riding motorcycles, buying parts online.
There doesn't seem to be any real concern that the grid will go down. Water is not an issue, internet always up.
Sure there's war torn structures etc but for the most part that are living a fairly normal life.
🤷

Dang, man. What a tough row to hoe. Glad to hear that you are making progress.

Don't give up, don't ever give up.

I'll add you to my prayer list.
