Looking at her highlights the level of competition looks weak ?
She plays in the top division in TN 4A, you are not going to get much better competition on the HS level. Unless you play nationally and most public schools do not do that !!! Imari Berry plays the same level competition as Madi Hawk noone popping off about how her competition is weak.....

Outside of Bearden, 4A in East TN is pretty weak this year. Jeff Co is 13-9 overall and 1-4 in district.

Bc HS really doesn’t mean much outside of if you are a good player u should have numbers like Madi or Imari to even be in the conversation. Tennessee has really good HS basketball. Just use coacht.com to figure out if they playing a hard schedule or not.

End of the day it’s summer>>>everything

Many D2 girls will out “stat” Power5 girls or D1 girls simply bc of system or level of comp tho. High school is just a litmus for “can they play?” At what level is a different convo bc future potential plays a HUGE role

If you think about it about 95% of all HS schedules are weak. Unless you play a national schedule the overall everyday HS games are medicore. That is precisely why colleges do not recruit you from HS play. AAU is where it counts
Madi is an awesome baller
Imari is an awesome baller
Jaloni is an awesome baller
But in HS none of them play high level competition, that shouldn't take away from all their accomplishments bc I guarantee you one thing ALL 3 of those girls are putting a whipping on the high level competition in AAU

And that means absolutely nothing in regards to our bench as LSU won the game. When you have a player with 31 and 18, production off the bench of 6,5 and 2 is needed when you win the game by 8. Walker playing a great game was our saving grace of it being this close.
Why did walker have the game she did? Alexis Morris Doubled down on Jordan Horston to help Fla'junae Johnson. The defensive game plan by LSU was on point. They were taking their chances by letting walker be free and walker scored 13 above her average.

But what do the others in front of her do to keep her on the bench? Two biggest games UConn and LSU, Tess had 6 points in each. That’s not what your “sharp shooter” is supposed to produce.
tess is one vols best passer. her defence keeps improving. far her not scoreing there not any vol racking up asts.

Yes, game plan for anyone who watches TN is take RJ or JH out of the game and let a third person step up.

Remember, ole folks the obsession for the players from that Hamilton private high school. THe LVs got one of the six players. She and all the others transferred from their original university, one twice.

I personally question, whether now or in the future women, who select primarily on the NIl factor will be finalists for LVs. Nor can I understant when two white blond twins with medium and marginal basketskills have deals over a million based on their media. summary: what do I know? and similarly what do any of the others on this board know?
The LSU. Gymnast Dunn is the highest NILfemsle athlete. She is stereotypical attractive white female who is about 4th or 5th best on team. Her deals supposed to be worth over 2 million likely based on over 10,000,000 social media followers. She posts somewhat suggestive photos all the time. Being great in your sport apparently not that important

"She is stereotypical attractive white female who is about 4th or 5th best on team"....so what are you mad about? Companies want kids with a social media following.

companies have right to spead their money where they want to. so does the people who buy things.

I'm going to guess very attractive Black women do better also. Being attracted to attractiveness is old as man. Using that to make money is as old as advertising. Also, sex sells, or so I hear.

But what a stinking, unfair mess. Some unruly and demanding super fans of the LSU gymnest recently disrupted a meet, demanding she come off the bench and perform for them. They are paying customers after all.

The lack of thought and planning NIL came out under is truly mind boggling.

Maybe a lot unrelated comment, but I've never understood why female gymnasts' outfits have to be so revealing (requiring constant tugging back into place), especially around the thighs and rump area. The men seem to be able to perform the same routines wearing shorts or tights and do just fine. Same goes for volleyball briefs. Just puzzling to me why it's necessary to expose the groin area and butt cheeks in order to compete.

My daughter played volleyball in middle school and loved it. Got to high school and the shorts were a no go. And for many, many other girls. No roster cuts were necessary, it was whoever could and would wear the shorts. Never understood it.

In 1996 I was the liaison for the Australian womens Olympic basketball team for a pre-Olympic tournament in Chattanooga. The team wore spandex uniforms

the fashion didn't catch on, but as a 36 yr old male,,,I didn't mind the attempt

the last list her mom sent me that were actively recruiting her are:
Wake Forest, Duke, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa state, Kansas state, Missouri, NC state, USF, Memphis, Belmont.
that was in December

Coach Banghart follows me,,,I think bc she is interested in her

I coached middle school volleyball (and bball & softball), and the v-ball team always wore either shorts or bicycle shorts (navy blue). When we went to h.s. or college meets, those players were constantly tugging the briefs back into place. I'm sure most were just doing it unconciously out of habit, buy it was almost embarrassing.

Not a big fan of the current b-ball fad of the diaper look, either. I thought the compression shorts or tights might catch on along with the tees under uni tops, but hasn't happened in a big way yet.

I remember those!

Probably made diving into the pool for post-victory celebrations much easier.

Some big name schools on that list.

Especially given the current (public) recruiting...given that we don't know how '24 is shaping up...seems that Madi would definitely be on TENN interest list.

I was with the team all day for 4 days,,,one of the most enjoyable BB times of my career
Sat in on coaching sessions, practices, accompanied them to area venues
the other teams in the tourney were Korea, Japan and Italy
their team took home the silver
I still have an Olympic game ball from then,,,the organizer gave me one
there were only 144 game balls for the 96 olympics
