2024 season ticket renewals going out now

I'm guessing the other problem is the ones making decisions are not there at baseball games enough to know the reality. They also only show up for the big games. I'm not sure anyone in UT baseball coaches or admin are making these decisions.

You're absolutely right. I'm nearly positive no one in the baseball silo has anything to do with it. I genuinely believe it would be handled differently if it were.

The UTAD and the Tennessee Fund are the ones pulling these strings. That's where the disconnect is, honestly.

And I hope no one takes it as I'm just ripping them. They're usually nice people- mostly kids with a rough job to do. In overly corporate terms- the ones steering the ship have a vision that I have a hard time getting on board with.

The sad part is when the loyal diehards get pushed out, the “wine and cheese“ corporate crowd will move in and take over creating a very sterile environment. I fear that the loud, “hornets nest” environment will be long gone. Moving the student section next year to Right Field isn’t going to help things.
Completely agree unfortunately 😕

Yall don’t like when Bill Haslam and Big Jim show up for the Saturday regional vs. Liberty and spend the whole game glad handing in the MVP seats?

Ha. If their name is on a building, I will give them a pass and thank them for all they’ve done for UT. However, those who are securing season tix as a business write-off, or to “be seen”, or to resell, and have no interest in supporting the team unless it’s a big marquee game, well…I’m not a fan.

This may be the last time I address this issue.

I feel bad about bitching because my situation is very unique. It's really not UT's fault I don't have season tickets. It's complete my $!%!$%!$# ex wife.

I had a nice conversation this afternoon with someone from Tennessee Fund. Obviously, this is really the first season donations were required for regular seating and those with season tickets were grandfathered in and allowed to purchase without benefit of donor ranking provided they make the donations when they purchase season tickets. As I could not get tickets last season I could not get this season.

Here is what I learned.

There are about 4,648 season tickets out of 5,448 total seats and there are about 18,000 donors in the Tennessee Fund.
The season tickets for the new seats and for those who did not renew their seats were offered in donor order and the donor that got the last season tickets was #1,352 and had 985 total donor points.

Background: You get 1 point for every $100 donated.
You get bonus points for being an alumnus (10 pts)
You get bonus points for number of years given
but obviously, the biggest decider for donor ranking is money donated because that's the ONLY way I will be able to buy season tickets in future.

So, all things being equal next season. I will need to likely be have more points that 1352 for season tickets next year as those behind 1352 will have more points themselves.

The math is this simple:

985 points x $100 = $98,500

This is a lot of money and represents what I would need to likely "donate" to get back into the stadium for every game.. Most likely, it would be around 1,000 points next season or $100,000 in real value

My bitch of an ex-wife has now cost me an additional $100,000 because she "deserved to be happy" with the worst irony being that she really didn't..

My only options:

(1) Donate $100,000 in 2024 and keep my fingers crossed
(2) Get a season ticket holder in football and basketball with about 1,000 donor points to buy the tickets FOR me.

I wonder how may of my friends with football season tickets are near rank #1,352? I doubt any of them are.

Guys, unless I win the lottery or get a bigger than expected inheritance, It does not appear I will ever get season tickets. And I am going to have to simply live with that.

So, I'm planning my beach trip for the first week of June and will watch the regionals on TV. I used to do this regularly and only missed one regional but did catch the Super Regional in Atlanta on way back.

And let me be blunt, this is NOT UT's fault
I made the bad decision to not get tickets in 2019 because of personal problems I was having. UT had no control over that.
This is just bad timing.

However, I am furious that so many boosters purchased so many baseball tickets with so little interests in going to more than a handful of games. The brokers are only a minor problem.

I do have to ask, how many of these boosters would be furious enough to give up their football tickets and stop donating if the Tennessee Fund took away their baseball tickets for not attending games

Wow, fryeguy-unbelievable. I gave up 11 years of football season tickets in 2016. I was so done with Butch. At this point, I don't see ever being able to purchase season tickets again for any UT sport. They’ve priced me out.

I would just pick out some games over the years and buy the tickets. For that amount of money, you could attend select games for years and throw in some trips to Omaha too.

Do you live near Knoxville? I’m looking for someone to purchase my midweek games and a handful of others.

Pretty much have to find someone to split the cost. That’s the only way I can afford them.

Did I just see on Ticketmaster that donors are getting pre-sale access to single game tickets?

Does the athletic department not want new people added to their fanbase?
If they hold back a few seats for the commoners, are they just holding back crappy seats no one else would want?

You did. I have had football season tickets during some lousy seasons over the last 10 years. I didn't get an email about the sale and I'm not in the group of donors that gets in on this sale. So it's not just donors, it's the big donors.

Yes and the donors have this presale until next Friday. I called today... Not happy.

Yep get ready to pay a fortune again this season for SEC games and even weekend non conference. I see a few on StubHub outrageous.

Hell, this must be that top 1800 sale. I never saw a peep about it.

My old seats I was forced to relocate from were kept by UT. I was told they'd be for university use or "placed in the single game sales inventory for this season". I'm quite sure I know where they'll end up given Ticketmaster's "dynamic" pricing model.

That is until we lose 1 or 2 games and/or it rains a bit, causing fans to fall off the bandwagon and costs to plummet (see for example Florida series last year)

Somebody in D will not get tickets next year. They have almost every non-conference game for sale already on ticketmaster. Better enjoy the profit this year.
I'm trying to get an idea what is realistic to sell my tickets I don't plan on using to help with Kirby's initiatives. Not enough tickets for sale yet to get a sense of what tickets and experiences should sell for.

Have you received your tickets yet? I’m still waiting.
