2024 Transfer Portal Thread

I think both he and Lanier would be in the boat, but the question is are we willing to wait on them both to go through the draft process? I don’t know why they think they actually have a legit shot to be drafted. They need to prove it like Knecht did.

I think for the players it's smart to go through the process. You learn a lot about what the next level expects or sees in your game. Strengths and weaknesses.

A Portal Thought if I may:

Just last year at 🍊Tennessee Julian Phillips & the Vols shut GG Jackson down and he had 0 points against us. In just one year and GG Jackson is scoring 44 points in an NBA game. I shared this for a reason:

Just because a player does not work out at Tennessee, it does not mean he's not a great player... The defensive demands are top-notch for the Vols. An example is Justin Powell. He didn't work out well at TN, but when he left he was incredible at Washington then he followed that by entering into the NBA draft and even though he went undrafted the Cleveland cavaliers picked him up bc of his incredible shot making ability.

All of that to say it's all about the right fit... And Tennessee will bring in guys this off-season who will be the perfect fit. They are calculated & well thought out in this recruiting process. They have a win now mentality & will not just throw together a bunch of great players & call it a team.

Though it seems the Vols are moving slow, the tortoise in fact beat the hare Go VOLS

I was thinking someone else who we have thought to have lost or was trending away. Awaka, Aidoo, or possibly Dubar.
Didn’t think Dubar would make sense, BTO said he didn’t have a commitable offer, unless that changed in 24hrs

For y’all, yeah Awaka would be exciting, I just can’t get excited about him.

Aidoo, yeah I’d be pretty stoked tbh

Aidoo was a no show in the Tournament.

At least Awaka gave effort.

Aidoo had plenty of chances.

Intersting ranking of top transfer portal players.

MSN

Cade Tyson is # 12, Aidoo #14, Dubar # 25, Saint Thomas # 26 and the Ohio State trasnfer Roddy Gayle # 30.

Indana State big Cream Abdul Jabbar was #1.

If Dubar and Saint Thomas didnt have commitable offers, it makes me thin we feel good about Cade Tyson and maybe have someone else ready to step into that stretch 4 role.

Also feels more likely Awaka is back every passing minute.
