Then JP Estrella told me in our interview that he gets compared most to Kristaps Porzingis - if we can see him be unleashed yo operate more in his offensive bag we will see a star slowly being born... Would hate to clutter the roster pushing them two back even further honestly. I know j left out Cade Phillips and he's not a shooter like Awaka, so i think he would be a closer to end of bench guy with Bishop Boswell at 10 n 11 (and two developmentals at 12 n 13)

Do we know Phillips lacks any shooting ability? I don’t remember him taking any shots this year. Would be interested in what someone who sees some practices would say about it?

I remember in his thread posters talked about how he could shoot the 3 and I’ve seen video. Granted he doesn’t take as many.

Yes I have interviewed him and followed his journey from since we first reached out to him in recruiting why he was playing high School in Alabama and I followed his link Academy journey as well... He is more of a rim runner and not a shooter... When I asked him one of the things that he would like to get better at he said definitely shooting... And yes he is an incredible athlete but it is no secret that he is not a stretch big... Love his energy and hustle. Hope he continues to develop his shot. He's currently in training with Cameron Carr and that certainly will not hurt him with his shot

To be honest the only thing I saw was that Dubar didn't have a committable offer when he left (Sunday) and since he didn't commit until yesterday it seems that was true. So there was a delay for some reason, could have been waiting to hear about his academic standings (which would come in Monday morning) or could have been lots of things.

I don't recall anyone saying he wasn't a take. Just that during his visit he didn't have a committable offer, but obviously they lifted that and he committed.

I'd be fine with Lanier OR Gayle and I like Anderson's size and shooting, but I'd rather use that spot for a project big IF we are already landing Igor. Mostly because we've seen that position (bigs) is the most likely to portal out for us.

'24 = Aidoo and Awaka enter the portal
'23 = Olivier
'22 = BHH
'21 = Pember & Anosike
'20 = Kent
'19 = Walker & DJ Burns

Returning Awaka would be big though, but just having him, JP, and Cade would worry me going into next off season (since even if we land Igor he'd only be a 1 year addition).

Dewayne Brown is a 2025 that’s set to commit that the Vols feel good about, he’d be a freshman that following year.
