Just by way of ranking the top 100 players in the TRANSFER PORTAL. TENNESSEE has received commitments from RUBY WHITEHORN #20, SAMARA SPENCER #24, ALYSSA LATHAM # 15, and LAZARIA SPEARMAN # 39. The two outstanding players still in the portal are MARYAM DAUDA # 34 and JANIAH BARKER # 12. All the other top 100 players listed among the top 70 or so have already committed elsewhere. Go get them both coach KC. We get both it will be a game changer puts us up another notch or two.

Jill is going to have to get her head in the game, seen her make a lot of dumb mistakes last season and Sara is going to have to get faster and learn how to defend got blown by a lot. Don’t know if she can get any quicker. That’s why we need to get both Barker and Maryam more athletic

“If I could take a full team of PGs I would” -CKC on Samara Spencer

Does that sound like she wants half the team to be forwards? Puckett, Darby, Hollingshed, Latham, Spearman, Dauda, AND Barker?? Then Whitehorn is kinda a SF.

I don’t see it

Whitehorn is a guard, period. She's like Horston, not RJ. Darby plays the wing, Puckett can play both. Your never turn a great player away. It could come back to bite you. Take both and let the battle for playing time commence.

Here's a question for you. Do you want as much talent as you can get, or do you want to keep the players that were there happy and hope they work out. Take tge talent. Playing time will work itself out. The cream rises to the top.

Wrong. In this system you’re pretty much a guard or a forward. Puckett and Tess cannot play a guard bc they can’t dribble. I agree Whitehorn is more guard like but it’s funny you compare her to Horston bc she plays a 4 in the W 🤭

Oh and there are many reasons to turn your back on a great player. Attitude being one of them. Fitting the system being another

take the L on this one. Good thing u aren’t our coach. U don’t turn away either player. Would be silly when u need another big desperately. You can’t run out 4 guards constantly and expect to beat SC, LSU, or Texas.

I'm pretty sure starting status and playing time will be determined under CKC the same way as it is under Barnes. No way would she be promising recruits anything other than opportunities to become their best and compete for titles.

Along that line of thought...
I wonder if someone in our program will develop a custom PER rating system that coincides with what CKC wants from her players on the court? Certain aspects of the game, as CKC will play it, should be valued and weighted differently. If it's something that lends itself to AI video assessment, that could become the in-house standard for earning playing time.

At Tennessee, CKC now has (for her) yet unimagined resources at her fingertips.
Let those creative juices flow in the UTAD!

Nah… again this is pointless forum speculation that we are even in on either one. So… no besides I never said I wouldn’t but I see the problems and like the other poster said “u don’t bring them here to not play” well what if they don’t? Do they become a cultural problem? Just saying. I simply suggested we may not want/have room for both. Maybe she wants another guard? <insert pg team comment>

And to that last point. U may want to start cheering for another team if u don’t want to see 4 guard lineups

4 guard lineups will not work in the SEC. if she does that, she’s setting us up for failure. you need forwards and post. SC, LSU, and texas will embarrass us if we don’t have size. rn, we are lacking it terribly. arkansas has tried to run the all guard lineup for years, and look where that’s got neighbors. he had really good guards when dungee was there, yet their lack of post got them beat.
