I'm never glad to see good players go to our rivals lol. But I do appreciate the kindness you expressed her way.Glad to see Dauda go to South Carolina. I think she can be a good fit there and will have the competition to make her better. I believe she has pro dreams and that’s the place to do it for sure.

Betts and Barker will be fine playing together, 2 different type of players. UCLA has the roster that could win it all, now it all depends on injuries and matchups of course.Would have loved to have her on Rocky Top but if South Carolina wants you I think you have to take that shot. I’m just glad she isn’t wasting her time at Baylor. If Mulkey had not changed jobs I think she would have gone there, she seemed to really like the school.
As for Barker…I think she jumped out of the pan and into the fire as far as coaches who can recruit but can’t coach. I’m just not impressed with Cori Close. Queen of the Sweet Sixteen, she has had a lot of talent over the years but has never been able to break through.
This will be her best roster by far next season and I won’t be shocked to see them crash and burn a bit. Not so certain about Betz and Barker on the same team. Barker needed a place with less drama, not more.
The next step in moving up is to hit on an elite 2025 and maybe a second top twenty type alongside top forty developmental and transfers.I wish Dauda well but I almost don't care who So Car recruits at this point. Everyone they put on the court is going to be hyper talented and they can only play 5 at a time. No one is going to out talent them, just have to find other ways to try and beat them.
If going to the W is Dauda's aim, she'll get good development at SC but don't know if she'll get enough minutes to make an impression.
You have to be Mr.CaldwellIn the SEC, what Coach Caldwell, Coach Lazo, Coach Tubner and the entire staff has done in a couple months is outstanding in stabilizing the present and future of the WBB program.
Tennessee competes this year in the SEC with the roster overhaul via the portal and retaining the current roster.
I am impressed with how hungry and excited these players are on social media to play in Knoxville this season.
The pride and hungry is real but more importantly these are highly skilled and respected players.
They aren’t going to backdown from competition.
So the 1to 2 portal players you said we were going to get is now not going to happen is that correct? The playing field is even. I am certain that the pre-season rankings will not hold at the start of the 2024-2025 season.
Danny White despite having remarkable success across the board seems to have find some unworldly good fortune, hiring Coach Caldwell and giving her not only her best roster ever before the portal but in addition having the elite resources available through NIL to secure the top SEC portal class in a month was an outstanding move.
Four P5 commits with starter experience is unheard of. Tennessee hired one of the best young women basketball coaches in the country and the program with arguably the greatest tradition of all-time has been buzzing since the beginning of the off-season.
With the Vol Club signings the new era
of WBB has arrived in Knoxville.
Film breakdown coming! Game analysis of Alyssa Latham, Lazaria Spearman, Ruby Whitehorn, and Samara Spencer today.
It kinda looks like the top programs observed how some excellent UConn teams over the past 8 years lost their realistic chance to compete for another natty because of a key injury or two... and decided the best insurance is to stack your roster.I wish Dauda well but I almost don't care who So Car recruits at this point. Everyone they put on the court is going to be hyper talented and they can only play 5 at a time. No one is going to out talent them, just have to find other ways to try and beat them.

First breakdown:
I’ve searched and looked hard to find a more impressive game by a freshman this past season than the dominant performance Alyssa Latham had against Notre Dame.
Latham has all the tools to be an All-SEC player as just a sophomore. She makes explosive plays on both ends of the court.
I don’t know that I would call Barker and Duada “depth” players for us.With the recent portal announcements, WBB has as much parity as I’ve ever seen heading into the 2024-2025 season.
There are no super teams. If anyone thinks there is one, then see LSU heading into last season.
There is only one lock as a projected WNBA lottery pick for the 2025 draft. Several players will have an opportunity to improve their draft stock early on.
Barker and Dauda as I said before were depth pieces.
Dauda could fill a role similar to Saxton at SC a few years ago.
SC best frontcourt player is still Ashlyn Watkins and it’s really not close.
Perhaps the most intriguing signing in the SEC this off-season is first-year head coach Kim Caldwell signing Alyssa Latham at Tennessee.
It was huge for Coach Caldwell and her elite SEC recruiters to add a highly skilled young two-way player with three or more years of eligibility.
Latham is one of only a few players in college that can match the athleticism and basketball skills of players like Morrow and Watkins in the post.
Speaking of CKC, the signing of Ruby Whitehorn, Lazaria Spearman, Samara Spencer a three year starting SEC PG, and Latham gives Tennessee the best portal class in the SEC. I would rank the portal classes TN, LSU, Kentucky, Texas, and Ole Miss.
Whitehorn in my opinion will be one of the biggest risers in WBB. I watched her film and she does everything on the court.
Every player signed by Coach Tubner, Coach Lazo, and CKC were P5 starters. Although they are included in the 2024 class keeping Kaniya Boyd #35 4-star ‘24 ESPN recruit and Talaysia Cooper #18 5-star ‘22 ESPN recruit after the coaching change gives Tennessee a formidable roster.
The one area of need that Tennessee has struggled with in recent years is athleticism and one on one defense.
That will not be the case this season.
The off-season individual workouts have been outstanding.
Tennessee is in a tremendous position to have a great season.
GBO
I agree with this, from what I’ve seen on film. She could be an All Sec performer with star potential.
