2024 TRANSFER TRACKER

Yes, I can agree with that statement. I’m not going there though lol.

I’ve only pointed out one I think needs to move on.

I think a couple of the others have a lot of potential if they get in shape and buy in to what KC is selling.

I maintain Strickland is a bit of a wasted scholarship. Great kid, but she just isn’t ever going to be athletic enough to compete in this league. Not sure we need her taking a roster spot for another couple seasons unless she improves dramatically.

At the time she was brought to UT Kellie said it “had to make sense for us and make sense for her and at this time it does.” To me she was basically saying they needed some warm bodies on the bench, because she really wanted to be a Lady Vol before committing to WV and then Pitt and we blew her off. Tells me the previous staff didn’t think she had the stuff but relented when they were desperate for a player.

I would think that unless one of the currents gets a great offer most will stay and see who the newbys are and see if they are getting recruited over before making a move. I did see an article yesterday on Caldwell that said she does heavily rotate a lot of players during games to keep fresh legs. Agree it does appear there are a couple who just won't fit into this style of play.

Some will be in for a rude awakening if they stay because they likely won't play at all, but to some, starting and finishing as a lady vol and being able to sign the graduation wall (if that even remains a thing) might be more important than going elsewhere.
That depends on who we bring in, Nye would be a starter but the rest I see people talking about are reserves.

Maybe we should wait until we see how players fit the new system and how Kim plans to use them.

We have five roster spots available and will be losing a bunch next year...I believe Destinee, Jewel, Karoline, Kaiya, Tess, and Sara will all be out of eligibility. Jill, too? Who did I leave out who are seniors/COVID yr?

I would have to disagree to an extent, especially since many said this roster Kellie built isn't very good, if that is the argument, Spearman is an upgrade of Karo at the 5 and Jill has shown she has no desire to play/bang down low.

Which puts her at the 4, and imo Latham ability to get on the glass and play consistently would like put her ahead of Sara and possibly Jill and because they are incomers and not hold overs they likely become priorities to the new staff because they are their players.

It will be very interesting to say the least.

The roster isn’t very good and I said that before last season, she may be an upgrade but I’ll look for better starters first, and maybe go to upgrades if we can get them. Don’t just settle from the beginning.

I believe Wells still has two years of eligibility, since she got a redshirt last year, so this year she'd be a redshirt senior, then next year could be her COVID year (or vice versa).

Definitely don't settle! Latham would definitely be one of my 5 for sure and I have no problem starting her at the 4 spot, I'd rather go with a play like Kiki over Spearman, but I don't know if Kiki is a caliber of player they think they can win right now. But she'd definitely be at the top of my list.

We aren’t getting Kiki…

Disagree fully. Not with you, because as you are saying Latham is a starter point blank. For most teams returning as a sophomore. I would say that even if she wasn’t visiting Tennessee. Latham is athletic. She can shoot the basketball. Strong and physical rebounder. Anybody on here saying Latham is a reserve is just discrediting a big-time talent that is considering UT. For instance, she is a more skilled F than Kitts, S.Smith, among others. I would feel 100% confident with her matching up against Morrow or Watkins as a Lady Vol. I mean people are saying they will take Nye rightfully so, but did they watch what Latham did to Alabama?
Latham should average a double double this season if she plays the season at full strength and finds a staff that can maximize her skill set. To say that is settling is just wrong. And there’s no kind of expectations known to man that could diminish what kind of potential Alyssa Latham has to be an elite player.

If the rumors are true and UCONN is in play, we should have a chance, why world someone out west go to Connecticut if that’s the case.
That’s a little diffrient. They will be the front runner to win the tournament next year. That’s about the only school i could see her going to that’s not out west.

Because more than anything players want a chance to play for a natty. And UConn obviously has that next year. Kiki can chose from the contenders, and take whoever pays best, or where she fits best. I doubt she'd go to a non-contender, even if they could scrape up more money. KiKi will make plenty.

Exactly, with all the resources and $ provided to this staff, no player that is available should be a "we aren't getting" instead should be a we reached out and threw everything we had, they just felt we weren't a fit.
