2024 TRANSFER TRACKER

Long time lurker but have followed Trilly for awhile.

With calling Caldwell and posting a lot of Vol visits - it seems like Trilly does have an 'in' at Tennessee.

Also - by my understanding Trilly is better than 0-2 on Vol commits? He had Latham and Spearman correct and got Nye wrong. Nye was rumored to be following Tubner to Tennessee and then Bama just upped her NIL and got her back.

I think he's 2-1 but please correct if I am wrong

EDIT:

I have also been keeping track of Skim/Trilly gifs and Skim is 29/31 currently with 5 gifs unaccounted for out there.
Which prediction besides Nye did Skim get wrong?

Ok so we need someone to guard a Lauren Betts.

If it works out like it should most teams we play will have a hard time getting the ball across half court. Let alone to their big.

That was part of our issue with post defense even with TK. Entry into the post/paint was far too easy, both off the pass and the dribble.

Can hardly think of a stolen post pass last season and those are some of the easiest to get if you know what you’re doing.

We ended up relying way too heavily on TK to rim protect which worked well the one season she was fully healthy and making progress. After her health scare that just wasn’t the same option. Perimeter players were still funneling people to her but she only had 1.6 blocks per compared to 3.5 in 21-22

Rikki Harris to Purdue

It was documented that she did commit but backed out of her commitment a few days later and flipped to Dayton.
I think this has been the season with the most issues like that I’ve seen.

Kids need to wait until they are CERTAIN before giving a yes. I’m sure they’re under a lot of pressure, maybe feel some type of way while they’re on their visit but then reconsider with a clearer mind later.

Frustrating for programs to get a commit though and then have them change their mind. Especially as fast as the portal moves. If a player waits a week and then changes course that’s an entire week that staff misses to continue recruiting for that spot.

Definitely!

It was said on the Purdue boards that she committed, came back and asked for a certain NIL package, they said no and so she balked at her commitment.

I’m sure that it has happened elsewhere too this year.

Re: Nye my partner joked our NIL check bounced, but it is easy to envision that scenario at Purdue happening. You have to wonder who is in the player’s ear and how they are determining their value. I can google salaries for my position to use for negotiating purposes, but who is educating these players on their “worth”?

What’s the latest portal news?
It is beyond comical for fanatics to keep pushing a fabricated rumor about a player that nobody can even give one point of substance on that UT ever was recruiting.

A player that folks are saying was signing with UT because of one of the two home run assistant coach hires made by CKC and Danny White!

2.3 million $ NIL collective at UT and now fanatics talking about NIL at a school like Alabama… this new UT staff is attacking the portal like never seen before in three weeks.

Anything else is just a cool fantasy.
GBO🍊.

Portal closes at midnight tonight. I don't think anyone of any importance will be getting in on this last day. So the players in the portal that have not committed are the ones that teams will be able to choose from now until probably July. Think most teams would want all their players in by July, but could be some commit somewhere later.

That’s the issue. Most likely don’t have good faith people in their corner nor understand it at all I’m guessing.

It’s not hard to see a future of a salary cap with contracts.
You can’t do a salary cap without a union and collective bargaining agreement so it ain’t happening Without the whole thing being blown open.

The sports left will have to be revenue positive so then you only have 50 schools left playing football. 30 MBB and 10 WBB.

It is just now hitting the women’s sports… Tennessee football has a player that transferred to Ole Miss… changed his mind and transferred to Louisville…. He decided Louisville wasn’t a good home so he entered the transfer portal again. This all happened since the end of last football season.

Something will need to change though is all I’m saying.

I think that it is more paid to play than they wanted to be and that aspect of the thing needs to change.

Good teams break the press easily, against inferior opponents things will look good. They say she likes to press off of baskets, so what happens when we go through those 5 min scoring droughts like we did last season, and that was with Rickea?

If you read some of the litigation going on, the schools may be agreeing to some kind of salary which may be evenly distributed but the athletes will still be able to have separate NIL deals. One possible agreement I saw implied power 4 schools (or whatever) may have to pay up to 30 million total in salary a year and the athlete is still eligible to make NIL deals.
The way this is going, a lot of players are going to make more than some professors, and still get scholarships.

Theoretically, the chances of going through these droughts “should” go down… under this system, the team would be getting up more shots during that time at a quicker pace and have a better shot at ending a drought as opposed to getting set up in the half court and trying to score off a set when teams are defending well in the half court, which a lot of good teams do.

Your point is still well taken though… I’m so interested to see how the style will change or look when we play the best teams.

Games slow down when n crunch time, so who gets the ball when we absolutely need a bucket?

If you are talking about after FTs or TOs, I don't think we will be able to do hero ball like we did with RJ. She will probably call a play with multiple scoring options and trust the team to execute.

She’s talked a lot about recruiting players she trusts, so I can buy that she would make that kind of play. I can also see why players would like that.
