I share your concern, but I think (hope) that the players who might seriously consider us are very keen to our circumstances, and would at least wait for just these critical few days before committing elsewhere. As a for-instance, and while I don't necessarily expect we will get her, I've read that we've reached out to Lucy Olsen, who has been on the portal trail for several days, and last I read, she's still on the board.
One thing's for certain, and with respect to our recent Coaching Staff, I'm a little tired of those "Recently considered Tennessee" comments.

I not at all concerned about what has gone into or out of the Portal .Why, because of the no limit now on transfers . Some of those that go into the portal and then commit to another school ,stay a week or so then are going back into portal to go to another destination .There are examples all over of this happening and fact is you nor anyone else know what this coach wants in the way of talent that is in the portal . It is a mess of mega proportion so why fret about it ?

At least come May 3rd you can transfer but have to sit a season. UP until then you can jump like a frog and even the ones already at a school could leave it for another.

I agree I don’t want one and dones but…. It gives hope we have some with good connections. I don’t think we get any huge fish in this portal.. I think we will get a lot of really good younger players

But adding someone like Rogers would help

I think we may be a key player for her. Under used last season had a 1.26 scoring efficiency which is really great hit 87 percent of the free throws. Is the big strong guard that can defend and be a huge contributor to a team. I like her as a player even though they didn't play her enough there.

Exactly ......but I believe the sitting out a year is only for those who then sign with an SEC school like Cooper from SC last year.I am waiting for someone to challenge that 1 year rule in court .....in that case there will probably be no more constraints placed on transfers......this + NIL is causing complete chaos in College sports and there needs some guard rails put in place to bring it under control.

I like to focus on the elite players before I look for role players, we have a roster full of reserves.

Well most of the “best” are seniors… we might get 1…

Mostly I think we bring in a lot of young talent for year 2. Stars are born from roles.

Some coaches make stars look like bad players… HVL, Owusu, Deberry, Barker, Sarah Ashlee (pre Bama), HSG (pre Auburn)

I can probably name 30 more players who were stars that ended up being terrible fits and flopping for a new coach

No problem, but her getting in the portal a day after a coach of theirs leaves gives me some indication that we might be in on her for our team. It may not be true and certainly hoping for post players and players that can shoot the three. She fulfills that second requirement. Plus she can defend.

Does Abby Beeman have a COVID year left?

She was a star for Kim, Sun Belt POY, set Marshall records, DII All-American, knows the system inside and out.

Would think she would be a major asset in a transition year.

We all just think differently, I’d rather take 4 seniors and win the championship, instead of taking 4 players with 2 years of eligibility and win one or 2 games in the tournament.

No guarantees bringing those types in… just saying

By bringing in younger you guarantee your future and foundation to build…

But I get what u mean. There is enough talent in the portal but you just aren’t getting them with a new coach.

Right you may get one or two big stars maybe. You have to back that up with the three other most solid players that fit what your trying to do. She is in her last year only thing I don't like about her.

I figured these are the players we will have to settle for, I’ll just wait to see how it all turns out.

Vonleh would be a huge get JMO. She is a post player on the rise and her two best seasons are yet to come.
