2024 U.S. Senate Races

I figured it would be more of the 2019 proposal, any of the following would get your gun banned. but currently not banned.
-More than 10 round detachable magazine.
-semi auto
-rifle with a pistol grip
-a forward grip
-an arm brace
-an adjustable stock
-a threaded barrel
Thanks

Has any of that actually gone into committee? Looks to me like much of that won't affect most gun owners. Not all, of course, but most of us

She's 70 so anything could happen but most likely Thomas and/or Alito would step down so at least 2 seats could be secured for awhile. I see Roberts staying until the day he dies.
Sotomayor is old, and fat, and apparently has medical issues. She could absolutely keel over.

If Trump is elected, I could certainly see Thomas stepping down.

You think “semi-auto” wouldn’t affect most gun owners?

That one aside…

“Rifle with pistol grip” would affect a good number of sport rifles out there.

I think it's a safe bet you will be keeping your guns regardless. Since that fear mongering narrative was started in the late 1990s, there's never been anything close to a move with legislation to do so. Now, I'm speaking to the idea all guns are going to be taken, which that narrative insinuates much like your post. Hell, Marsha spewed that narrative about Bredesen, who was literally a multi-gun owner and hunter
I am going to have to disagree with you. These are Marxist. They are not your normal everyday Democrats that we grew up with. Not fear mongering. Just calling it like I see it. And will be glad if you are right.

Which Justice is going to be replaced in the next 4 years that will alter the balance?

Sotomayor gonna keel over? She sure as hell ain’t gonna retire if Trump & GOP are in position to replace her.
I am thinking Thomas may hang it up if Trump is elected.

How many bills have been formally introduced to the committee and sent to Congress? I think you're speculating on a fringe narrative

Bredesen's problem wasn't guns. His problem was being a democrat in Tennesse with the way the democrat party is at the federal level today. He said as much yet he's still a democrat. I would like to know who he's voting for now.

Yes. I wouldn't want to speculate because I really don't know. If I were I would say at least a third. Maybe half because of what has sold the past 20 years
If you’re talking handgun ownership - it’s close to half that are semi-auto.

If you’re talking new handgun sales (I was) - it’s closer to 70-80% are semi-auto.

Over half of handgun sales today are 9mm alone.

👍 I'm not surprised it's higher than I thought

What bills are you talking about? If you are talking about gun bills, it would probably be political suicide to try to ban guns at this time. At some point it won’t be or it won’t matter because the Dems will no longer fear losing their seats. I do think this is their goal and I do think they will find judges who will go along with it.

Yeah, wondered about that right after I posted. I thought I got it wrong. I was thinking of Reagan's narrative, but that wasn't enacted while he was POTUS. Thanks for correcting me
If you really knew what you were talking about you'd know Regan was behind Hughes act that prohibited importation or domestic manufacture for public consumption of new fully automatic firearms. Basically limiting supply to the quantity on hand.
