2024 U.S. Senate Races

Thanks

Has any of that actually gone into committee? Looks to me like much of that won't affect most gun owners. Not all, of course, but most of us
The one in 2019 made it to the floor. IIRC its was DOA because a lot of the Dems wouldn't even vote for it, saying it didn't go far enough. and there were a couple others who weren't going to vote for it either.

Lol, internet tough guy. If you are going to talk about firearms, maybe you should know a little about them. So liberal of you.
I freely admit I don't know much about history and timing of laws about guns. That has nothing to do with owning and knowing how to use them.

it does a good bit if you are/want to be a good/legal gun owner.

if I travel with mine across state lines, I make sure I look up what each state requires when traveling, and go by the most restrictive. it can vary a good bit, and even here in the SE you can end up with a felony pretty easy if you aren't careful.

Not history and timing. There is some nuance.

I don't carry across state lines and stopped hunting years ago. I go to a range that's about 10 miles from my house and that's it. Luckily, I've never had to fire in defense of my family or me

Sotomayor is old, and fat, and apparently has medical issues. She could absolutely keel over.

If Trump is elected, I could certainly see Thomas stepping down.
I'm not like Thomas, the greatest living American, stepping down. Just the first part. ha

She barely lost the Governors race which had its fair share of oddities.
She just isn't a good candidate.

1) Being a TV weather girl and then a news anchor where your job is to read the news script doesn't make you qualified for any public office, let alone governor or US senator.

2) She was a registered Republican, then Democrat, then Independent, then Republican again.

3) She voted for John Kerry and Barack Obama (twice).

Those are just a few highlights.

Clarence Thomas will likely retire and be replaced with a younger model. Alito is a possibility too. It won't change the balance. It will lock in the current balance for a longer period of time.
But then hopefully Trump will bow to the Democrats' wishes and increase the number of seats. That and killing the filibuster should make them happy.
