2024 US House Races

I completely agree with you with respect to the issue. I just think it’s a dangerous precedent and have no confidence that Senate Republicans will pull it off.

Honestly, the vote probably happened yesterday because the thin margin in the House was going to drop by another vote as soon as the NY election results were in.

Ohh, Mayorkas wont be found guilty because the Uniparty hates America, but the win will be exposing Biden's behind the scenes open borders policy in a Senate trial. Again, moderate Dems and Indies are strongly against open borders. This is a huge political win for the GOP unless McConnell sabotages it in the Senate.

Impeaching Mayorkas, while meaningless overall, will now cause a hearing in the Senate over immigration. If the Senate GOP plays their cards right during this Mayorkas trial, it could be a huge political win going into November.
The Democrats still hold the majority in the Senate. They don't have to hold hearings. They can just move to vote.

Baris is one of the best pollsters going today.
He went on Fox News in November of 2022 and said that the mid-term elections wouldn't be a red wave for Republicans - they would be a "red tsunami."

He had Republicans picking up 28 seats in the House - they picked up 9.

He also had Republicans taking back the Senate.

Finally, he had Tudor Dixon winning the Governor's race in Michigan and Kari Lake winning in Arizona. They didn't. Dixon lost badly.

The impeachment was a complete waste of time and sets a terrible precedent. This is an election year so no immigration legislation or really no legislation that could remotely be considered a win for one side or the other will pass.

We need many more impeachments, including a lot of Federal Judges.

Congress needs to get to work on ending lifetime appointments for federal judges.
Yep… 10 year terms or a max age or something. The founders probably never foresaw it being an issue, but there probably should just be a max age of 70 or 75 for everything from President to SCOTUS to Congress.

I don't know about that. The precedent had already been set. Republicans have been nutless losers for far too long.

Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green Won’t Run For Reelection: ‘I want to go out on top’

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) will not run for reelection this year, making him the latest House Republican to retire from Congress as the GOP seeks to hold on to its slim majority next year.

In an interview with the Washington Examiner on Wednesday, Green said the decision came after tough deliberation but after the three-term incumbent ultimately decided he had accomplished the goals he originally campaigned on.

“It’s pretty clear that the founders, the framers of the Constitution at least, intended the people’s representatives to serve for a season and then go home,” Green said. “We’re not intended to be here to grow old in Congress. So, there’s that constitutional piece that really kind of honestly probably is what pushed me over the edge.”

I hope every single Republicrat that has voted with the Dimwits on these insanely terrible issues and ideas gets beat in a primary and sent packing.

I am BEYOND tired of these guys who run on a conservative platform, then get to DC and vote with the Socialists that are destroying this country....which happens ALL THE TIME...just so they can get super rich by their lobbyists such as the MIC, Big Pharma etc. It is ridiculous. Both parties are beholden primarily to those billion dollar donors, NOT the ones who voted for them...OR the country.

Those scoundrels will sell this country down the river for a dime. Tar and feathers man. Tar and feathers. That penalty needs be reborn immediately IMO

I'll be darn! Deny it all you want, but another point we agree upon, even when we disagree. Don't go hog wild over this.
Get rid of Cannon, Thomas first, then the others. Replace them with people who rule by law, rather than being grabbed firmly by the pushy, or money smeared. Your turn.

Of course, no legislation needs to be passed to fix the immediate issue of having an open border. All they need to do is enforce the laws already on the books. They choose not to do so. Democrats are big on just ignoring laws that they don't like.

Ex-Capitol Police Officer Endorsed By Two Jan. 6 Committee Members

Former Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn received endorsements from two members of the Jan. 6 committee ahead of his congressional bid.

Reps. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Bennie Thompson (D-MS) have announced they are backing Dunn after serving on the committee that once heard Dunn’s testimony about the riots. Schiff claimed that “Harry Dunn defended my life on January 6th.” Thompson agreed, saying Dunn “did his job and defended my colleagues regardless of their party affiliation.”

Jan. 6 has largely been a theme of Dunn’s campaign. President Joe Biden went on to award Dunn the Presidential Citizens Medal for his efforts during the riots.

The RepubLiars did the same thing when they controlled both the house and senate. Trumpy and his lackeys called it going nuclear. Turnabout is fair play, I say.

This issue alone is going to cost the republicans. Why are they so stupid in fighting this battle? And why do they even think it’s a good idea? Leave the contraceptions alone. Leave IVF alone. And come up with reasonable abortion restrictions that most will agree on. The speaker is an idiot.

Barry Goldwater on Mike Johnson and his ilk:

Goldwater was pro Abortion. His wife helped to found a Arizona chapter of Planned Parenthood. Probably why he said what he did about Christians.

One daughter, and three grand-daughters, had abortions.

A grandson and grandniece were homosexuals.
