2024 US House Races

AIPAC didn’t get Jamaal Bowman defeated. Jamaal Bowman and his fat mouth got Jamaal Bowman defeated.
Bowman would probably had lost because of his own actions but $20M in outside money sealed the deal. The problem goes far beyond that one election though. Local elections should be decided locally.

Bowman was toast without it. The outside money was simply running up the score late.

Agreed that local elections should be decided locally. This one was for all intents and purposes.

Not sure what the remedy is for ensuring others are.

Elise Stefanik’s Dem rival Paula Collins spending campaign cash on ‘office rent’ at upstate NY bed and breakfast: ‘Unusual’

A Democrat challenging Rep. Elise Stefanik has been using campaign funds to pay rent for her district residence — a potential violation of federal election finance rules, records show.

Paula Collins has paid more than $4,000 this year on rent and “office rent” to White Pillars, a bed and breakfast in upstate Canton.

White Pillars is not an office space, however, and an apartment owned by the company was listed by Collins as her candidate home address, according to a New York Board of Elections filing.

Democratic Socialists of America Just Pulled Their Endorsement of AOC

The Democratic Socialists of America are no longer supporting progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, pulling their endorsement of the New York Democrat for failing to meet a list of demands the group set forth.

A conditional endorsement was offered in June as long as the congresswoman “Publicly opposes all funding to Israel, including the Iron Dome; Participates regularly in the DSA Federal Socialists in Office Committee; Publicly opposes all criminalization of Anti-Zionism, such as bills advancing the IHRA definition which conflates criticism of Israel with anti-semitism; [and] Publicly supports BDS (Boycott, Divest, and Sanction) to end Israeli settler-colonialism.”

BREAKING: An Alaska judge has ruled against Democrats and REJECTED their lawsuit against the petition to ban Rank Choice Voting, which they have used to rig Alaska's elections. Soros-funded forces asked the courts to overturn the petition, but the judge saw right through it

"The Initiative identified as 22AKHE shall remain on the November 2024 general election ballot consistent with the Court's decisions dated June 7, June 21, and July 19, 2024, and the Division of Elections' subsequent recount of subscribers." - Judge Christina Rankin@907Honest, the election integrity group behind the petition, successfully gathered more than enough signatures to put the petition on the ballot, and after months of fighting in the courts against Pro-RCV Soros linked groups, they succeeded

"It means we are on the ballot. Soros and Friends, aka Pro-RCV group, sued the state to stop our initiative from making the ballot. We fought them all the way to Superior Court after intervening in the lawsuit." - Phil Izon, leader at 907Honest

In 2022, Republicans lost Alaska's sole congressional seat for the first time in over 50 years because of Rank Choice Voting. Democrats put up one strong candidate (Mary Peltola). Republicans had multiple, which led to votes splitting between them, and because it was also a contentious campaign, many Republican voters picked the sole Democrat as their 2nd choice. If you add up the total votes from the first round, the voters voted Republican by majority. However, because of RCV, the people of Alaska are represented by a Democrat AGAINST their will.

House Democrat Campaign Chief Distances Vulnerable Democrats from Kamala Harris as House Republicans Go on Offense

Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee chair (DCCC) Rep. Suzan DelBene (D-WA) worked last week to distance vulnerable Democrats from Vice President Kamala Harris while House Republicans on Monday announced their latest efforts to go on offense and expand their majority.

DelBene refused to use Harris’s name when CNN’s chief congressional correspondent, Manu Raju, asked her if it is “a good idea for those vulnerable Democrats to align themselves with Kamala Harris” on Thursday, according to a clip shared to X by Inside Politics on Sunday. She also deflected by arguing that the races would be driven by local issues:

Rep. Cori Bush Loses Democratic Primary after campaign onslaught from pro-Israel groups

Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., has lost her primary, handing a pro-Israel group another victory against a member of the progressive “squad” of lawmakers.

St. Louis County Prosecutor Wesley Bell has defeated Bush, NBC News projects. Bell is expected to carry Missouri’s deep-blue 1st Congressional District in November, after a primary that exposed the party’s divisions on Israel, with Bush a vocal critic of the Israeli government and the country’s response to Hamas’ terrorist attacks on Oct. 7.

Common sense coming back? Hopefully a precursor to November.
