2024 WNBA Discussion Thread

TSpoon is messy. After storming out of her presser bc of continually being asked about changing her starting lineup she changed her starting lineup. Unfortunately that means Diamond, along w Dana Evans is benched. Given the way they've been playing and the way Carter is playing it was a no brainer.

Interesting that Spoon appears to be conceding CC her points early, having Mabry guard her. She obviously can't and CC has already taken her off the dribble twice. Not sure what that strategy is about.
Gotta have Carter on Mitchell, which is a benefit to Clark because Mabrey can't guard her

Evans is their best perimeter defender but she just doesn’t bring enough offensively to keep herself on the floor.
First sub was Evans in to guard Clark. She shut her down aftr Clark had scored 7 pts on Marbry early.

Interesting post battle. Angel lost her composure early and got a bench seat for it, but came back well. Boston playing well again. Izzy got some mins too, had 4 pts.

Stepped on the floor and double dribbled (kind no call), then turned it over, then gave up a layup.

I’m still struggling to figure why she’s in this league? Just not up to par.

That’s a flagrant for sure. This is just so frustrating. That could have caused a concussion for sure.

Trying not to be a Clark homer, but come on.

Also Reese is 3-10 again. She just isn’t very good, glued to the floor, too much soul food and partying.

Told my son 5 minutes ago when he walked into the room. “Oh, you and big WNBA fan now?”

No, I’m here for the drama….called him back in the room to watch the targeting hit on CC.

Had it been Candace Parker or any Tennessee player this board would have flipped out and wanted an ejection. Same rules, that was intentional to hurt her.
I like Clark and Angel, regardless of who it was that play wouldn’t really stand out to me at all. But there will be a meltdown, watch

I’ve played basketball my entire life and have somehow managed to never clock another player in the head like that.

There is no reason to swing your arm in that way, at that time other than to hit someone in the face. Dirty players make dirty plays and Reese has proven time and again she is a dirty player with no class.

She either has the worst body control of any professional athlete in history, which, if the case, she should not be allowed to play for others safety. OR she’s a dirty player. Take your pick. Either way she is laughably bad and trashy.

The talk of ROY and her name is hysterical. Are we watching the same game? Are we looking at the same stat sheet?

3-10 from 1’, 5 oboards off her own misses and 9 pts.

18, 5 and 5 on 60% shooting for Clark.

Sure anytime you miss the ball that much and wind up your arm and hit the head directly.
"Wind up your arm"? I know some live firmly in the post truth world, but that simply didn't happen. It was part of the effort and motion to block.

I'm no Angel defender and think she's so awkward it's painful to watch, but that play isn't the one.

It is true that some of that mess that passes as shots from her is just unbelievably awful. But she'll walk out with yet another double double. Somehow she manages to get it done.

Currently, Nylissa Smith is just eating Angel up and in her head. Angel has spent lots of time barking at refs instead of going back on D today. She's totally lost her poise, just picked up her 5th foul.

Great defense from Clark to end the quarter. Broke up the pass to prevent the open 3. Then broke up the play to prevent the Cardoso shot.

Myth that she isn’t a good defender. She reads the defense incredibly well which is why she is such an incredible passer. It also means she can read other teams plays in a split second. She just understands basketball on a level most don’t. A savant.

When your arm is down at your leg and you go for the head…you call it what you want. I call it a wind up, intentional….

12 second mark calls your bluff
