Dawn is a very performative coach. That is part of her greatness. Given her teams level of success it is easy for them to get a little complacent and she is always looking some imagined slight to motivate her players.I understand Dawn’s frustration, but the No. 1 overall seed just doesn’t lose on their home floor in February by 29 points. You just can’t defend that.
Not to mention they lost the head to head against No1 overall UCLA.
I am sure she knows full well that UCLA was more deserving of the top slot but her job as coach is not to be an objective analyst; it is to find any possible motivational edge.
So, the current mantra is that "we have been royally disrespected by not being the number one, #1 seed so team, get that chip on your shoulder and lets show those SOBs who the real #1 is."
