2025 NCAA WBB Tournament non LV games and news

Same…but…

The ONLY reason I can see rooting for them is because we beat them this season. Not a bad motivator to be able to yell at your team all year that they beat the national champion last year.

Reasons To Reject that Premise:

1. Benefits Conn recruiting.

2. Rewards a massive, smarmy jerk.

3. Increases the championship differential between our two programs.

4. Will have to see more ads of Olive Oyl.

5. Lobo will be more insufferable than ever.

ABC Principle must remain in effect for perpetuity.

Excellent points. I do wonder how much longer Geno will keep going. He looks like he is running on fumes. I could see him going out with PB.

Lady Vol toddlers must be taught their ABC's as early as possible.
Creekdipper...probably a dumb question here, but it is an innocent one. Why is the hatred for Uconn so intense? Even on the Boneyard, everyone seems to hate Tennessee. I don't. I mean I don't love Tennesse, but all the players that made the Tennessee/Uconn rivalry what it became, are looong gone. Been to final 4s and sat next to Tennessee fans in the past and we all had a good time, believe it or not. Maybe it's just me, but if Tennessee had made the final 4 this year, and given that uconn did too, I think that would have been phenomenal for WCBB. Enlighten me...is the hatred just for Geno? If someone else was coaching uconn, would the hatred go way down? Just curious. I would ask the Boneyard, but I'd probably get banned! You guys are more approachable!

If you don’t understand a tongue in cheek fan hatred against an unquestioned number one rival, I don’t know what to tell you. Certainly not as intense as it once was, without question.

I would be remiss to not recognize the existence of plenty of not so much tongue in cheek hatred, too.

Once upon a time there existed a comments section tab within the ESPN site for live game stats. The vitriolic behavior there lead to the tabs demise and removal from the platform.

Would a UConn vs LV matchup in the Tournament be huge for wbb? Oh hell yeah, the later the better!

Good luck this year. Till we meet again. 🤙🏼

Facts. Remember this it’ll make you feel better, Coach Kim is 1-0 vs the connies.

Also to opposing fans, what the LVs having coming back and coming in from the #1/#2 recruiting class one thing for sure with Coach Kim leading the charge We good on Rocky Top.
GBO!

Our moto as LV fans should always be: "anyone but UConn".

You forgot to mention that Uconn players and staff are the spawn of Satan who have come to earth to impose 10,000 years of darkness and misery upon humanity. Other than that, they are fine.

My two cents….I think Uconn finds a way to beat UCLA. I also think SC beats Texas based upon the results of their three previous games. If I was forced to pick a winner between Uconn and SC this season for the final game, it’s easy, Uconn should be the prohibitive favorite.

Now, UCLA still has a lot to say about things, that will be a close game, and it’s not unreasonable to think Texas could beat SC. But my gut says a UConn-SC final with UConn winning, hope I am wrong.

Geno has been to something like 16/17 last final fours, love him or hate him he knows how to coach better than anyone else in the game right now, still. Plenty of those years he took a broken wagon into the tourney and still got there. Respect where it is due in my book. There are only two coaches carved into the women’s BB Mt. Rushmore, and we know who they are.

UConn over UCLA
Texas over SC
UConn wins the championship

Geno will make the adjustments necessary to win.

I just want a rematch of usc vs ucla or usc vs UConn they both sound exciting but if ucla shoots well they could catch UConn slipping

Not "hatred" per se,. More strong dislike

About 75% Auriemma (Too much ancient history to relate).

The rest is probably due to having Conn being the top program re: championships. Call it envy or ambition. Hard to give up the throne, especially when our iconic coach was taken away from us. Remember that we still had the championship lead when Pat had to step down.

Centered. I agree emphatically.

I hate TN because I grew up hating them, but I will say that my hatred doesn't really burn so bright now after all of these years. I feel as though nowadays I can sit back and appreciate what TN has gone through to build their program back up. As we've seen with Baylor, ND, and Stanford (for example), it's not so simple to replace a great coach on a storied program. And I like what CKC has done so far.

That said, it's still fun to snark. I never take anything actually seriously. But I still always want UConn to beat the LVs -- and yes, I am still mad we lost to them this season -- and I never want to see the LVs win another title (;)). However, I have only really "hated" TN because they were a respected rival; obviously Pat did so much for the game and paved the way for programs like UConn et al. And she was gone much too soon. :(

(But whenever I am out and about and see someone with Vols attire or a sticker on their car, I roll my eyes and go, "ugh, a Tennessee fan !!!")
