2025 Recruiting

Mia Pauldo has been the best player in the 2025 class this summer. Every single event, every game, every head to head competition she has delivered. Easily a Top 5 player in the 2025 class. Mya Pauldo has had some injuries that held her out of AAU sessions and since returning has shown why during her junior/sophomore seasons she was ranked as a Top 20 recruit.

I hope they are absolutely pests and earn the ire of every coach in the SEC and beyond! Can’t wait!

The landscape of the game of Basketball has changed!! The days of the dominating bigs are long gone. The updated version is called postionless basketball period. The Pauldo twins fit this discription perfectly. A lot of u posting they are tooo small. Hello news flash. Coach Caldwell, has installed a system that is full court pressure all day and night. Harrasing the opposition into costly turnovers. Mia Pauldo might be the best recruit pound for pound out of this 2025 class period!! No one can stay in front of her. Mia harrases everyone that has the basketball 60 ft. She is a great floor general and makes plays for her teammates and by the way, drops the 3 in your face and attacks the rim. She is our version of Candice Parker, big time recruits are going to come to Tennessee and play with her. If Mya doesnt have those injuries that she is now fully recovering from now, she would be neck and neck with her sister. My Crystal Ball we get 2 out of the 3. Deniya Prawl and ?? Coach Caldwells style of play is ( Thank the lord, no more boring basketball) what every young lady or recruit wants. Show and display there complete skill package without reservation.

Facts 👍👍

The catchphrase "positionless basketball" is wrong. It really should be "all-position basketball" since everyone is expected to be able to perform all skills. I'm a nerd. This matters to me. lol
There's a Kama Sutra joke in there somewhere...
but I'll leave it to the more experienced @chuckiepoo to navigate that one.

I keep hearing that but I'm not fully seeing it. IMO half of it is true, coaches want more players in all positions who can handle and even facilitate, as in bring the ball up on a break opportunity. But dominating bigs are def still a thing. KY, OK, SC and TX will be bringing some serious size, UCLA and UConn both have feature bigs. Zach Edy dominated the men's side last yr.

Even moreso at the pro level. NY Lib just won the W precisely bc they had a big, Jonquil Jones, and Minny didn't. (Besides the refs, of course). JJ was MVP. Tina Charles had a record yr, Sky drafted Kamilla in front of Rickea (an idiotic mistake but I'm glad it happened). Aces struggled bc they didn't have a big to go w Aja, they are reportedly looking for one. And of course the NBA still has very dominant bigs - Jokic, Anthony Davis, Wemby, etc.

To some degree, basketball will always be a game of size. I think we'll see a hybrid game and a good example is how So Car played tonight - fast, shot 3s, but also scored 70 pts in the paint and played 3 bigs together at times. BC they have elite bigs that can run.

We are 100% agreeing in this glv Give me a team with the traditional lineup
PG, SG, SF, PF, C and I will face an equally talented 4out-1in team all day long

Even better if I face a five man true positionless team

I will slow it to a crawl and abuse them inside

You can't slow it down or you'll get trapped on the press. The opposing team can't just slowly dribble that ball up the court and wait for that slow big girl to get on the post. The play will be over before that big dinosaur makes it down the court.

You may be the one living in the past. Many of today's bigs are far from "dinosaurs", they are elite athletes who can run the floor.

Then why didn't Tennessee get one the last ten years then? You make it sound like athletic big girls are a dime a dozen. Big girls aren't fast. Some may be quick, but none are fast runners. Those big girls will be gasping for air against Caldwell.

That the LVs couldn't snare an athletic big the last few years (and Jill can still prove the exception) is part of the reason those coaches are no longer here. Indeed they aren't a dime a dozen, are very hard to find and usually go to the top handful of programs.

Hopefully you're right, but we'll see if some of the top bigs in the SEC are indeed gasping for air.

Caldwell forces the other team to play fast or get trapped on the press. They have to sprint and wear themselves out. They better be in good shape because there's no slowing it down against Caldwell. The big girls get caught in the middle because they don't have to time get to set up on the post.

I’m just curious what the origin of @Vunhopper is. Care to share?
