DL loses Omari Thomas, James Pearce, Norman Lott, Simmons, Bailey and Eason

The only WRs we have are Brazzell, Squirrel, Mathews, Staley….. all the others are true freshmen, graduate, or are in the portal.

Razor thin at Safety as Brooks graduates, we lost Hayward (a top 100 kid), and didnt have anyone highly rated in the class.

And while we were busy prepping to lose a playoff game, all the big portal guys got gobbled up.

Deep trouble next year.
Eason and Bailey can return for covid super senior seasons if they choose.

The problem with that is we have 0 quality depth on the offensive line. He will be running for his life behind a make shift offensive line next year too.
5 years in the making. That's a problem.. He's going too have to make some changes or he'll get changed out in a few years. People are going to get tired of watching this offense waller all over the field..

100% agree. Development has been an issue at offensive line, wide receiver, linebacker and of course safety. This has to be addressed moving forward if we’re to compete with what we saw last night.

Beasley, Goree, Farooq, Carter, Poteat, Redmond, Merritt, Lewis, Walton. One of these should be able to play safety and if not why in the heck are re recruiting them. Freshman play all over the country but we don't have the coaches in the secondary that can develop

Or maybe what we've seen is the Heupel offense and what we saw in 2022 was the anamoly?
He scared the crap out of Saban the year before in Tuscaloosa and had 600 yards total offense against Missouri/ SC / and maybe Kentucky. Either the league has caught up or Golesh and Hooker were so far irreplaceable.

Me too. McCord is a beast. He may throw for 400+. Upside is their Defense, secondary, in particular is as $hitty as ours.
McCord is likely going in the draft; 1st round in some quarters and late pick in others
He will test and maybe request a hardship waiver for another year he has to prove hardship also if NIL looks good that might motivate him to pursue a waiver

Zero sacks against a beat up line. Our DL was good at run stop but couldn’t get a pass rush on semi decent O-lines. There’s a lot of position groups that have to get better. I share the ‘25 concern. We don’t seem to be landing impact playmakers in the portal.

Could be a bit of the league catching up plus losing a top notch OC and generational QB

Anybody see the pictures or videos of the players on the field pre-game without shirts ? There was nothing there that looked scary to me. I saw a lot of softness. We need players but I might question conditioning too especially strength. Too many injuries this year.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about who we may or will lose. I'm more concerned that our staff show me that they can evaluate and develop talent. Right now that's a big concern for me. When Heupel lost the kids Frost brought in, things slipped at UCF. So far, I'm not all that impressed with the recruits we're putting on the field to replace the Pruitt kids.
Portal makes it difficult to stake your future on player development. Kids want playing time not a plan.

O-line needs help, pass protection is still spotty. Secondary is STILL garbage, #firewilliemartinez. Linebackers need help. Play calling offensively has been pretty bland and predictable. Defensively we need to find someone who can scheme and make in-game adjustments. I don't see a need for a wholesale firestorm type rebuild, but there are definite weak areas if you want to contend at the championship playoff level and we are not there. Not by a long shot. Still, the one replacement I would like to see is a new secondary coach.

Year in year out.
Offensive line is an issue. 10 years and counting
Look like garbage on the big stage.
Opposing QB plays like a Heisman.

Year in year out, no matter who's coaching the team.SOS.
If we are going to be an “elite” team, we need elite assistant coaches. Tired of the SOS as well…….
