On the recruiting front Tennessee—and a lot of other big-time programs—is simply in wait-and-see mode while a handful of five-star prospects mull over their college destinations.
Tennessee is still in contention for five-stars
Nate Ament,
Caleb Wilson and Chris Cenac, all of whom made official visits this fall.
The Vols are still in pursuit of five-star California prospect
Brayden Burries who has yet to make a visit. Tennessee is in talks to get Burries on campus for an official visit.
Barring a real change Ament is for sure waiting until the spring to make a decision, his long stated goal.
Wilson and Cenac could conceivably make a decision at any time.
Each of that trio of five-stars’ camps has heard from the Tennessee side in the last week and the Vols remain in contention.
It doesn’t necessarily feel like Tennessee is the team to beat for anyone of the three at this point, though in this current climate of recruiting things can change quickly.
