2025 Target List

It’s really good so far, imo.

It is. But we really could use an instant impact player, like Cenac or Ament. We lose a lot this off-season. I’m also just not sold that taking a transfer class as big as we did this year is what leads to the most success.

We’re expecting Lanier, Okpara, and Igor to all be big contributors. We hoped Dubar would, too. But last year seemed like the perfect mix of what I prefer. I know we will rarely get someone like Dalton, but last year’s roster was majority high school system with Dalton to complement the core. And some sporadic minutes from Gainey.

I agree last year was the perfect mix. I was excited about having a ton of transfers but you can definitely tell the difference in the teams.

Not sure what we want, but we lose a ton, and I’m hoping 3 transfers and 5 HS kids. I think 3 transfer guards along with Carr would be ideal, imo. Two starters and a Gainey type transfer.

PG: Transfer / Boswell / JJ (just placing him for prediction)
SG: Transfer / Evans
SF: Carr / Transfer
PF: Cade / Ament (just placing him for prediction)
C: Okpara / JP / Brown

Save the final spot or maybe a project player.

IF Brayden Burries gets on campus for his scheduled visit I have a feeling we'll get in the mix, but he's not likely making his decision anytime soon it seems.
I’m hoping we get JJ on campus. He seems right up Barnes alley.

“Mandaquit is a throwback true point guard who excels with his ability to run a team. He isn't going to wow anyone with dynamic explosiveness or individual offense, but makes his mark with his reliability, acumen for the game, and winning intangibles”

Also a 2x gold medalist I think. Sadly I think he is BYU bound.

Well, he's a true PG, so he's definitely not Tennessee bound.

Signed,

I think we'll land a true PG. I'm still a bit baffled we couldn't find any one interested to play with ZZ for a year or two...but with ZZ graduating this year PG will be a big priority both in the 2025 class AND transfer portal. (Don't see Barnes trusting a true freshman to run the show next year)

According to Ben McKee on 247 he thinks we lead for Cenac and the visit to LSU is just a courtesy to the home school, also said we’re finalizing OV’s for Burries & Mallory.
Wonder if NIL money wise there's enough for Cenac plus Ament. Especially knowing they will be forking over for a starting point guard

Is that something McKee would know, or is that speculation? Seems like he's on an island with that info.

Man, I sure hope he's right.

Amari Evans tonight:
26 points, 7/17 FG, 0/6 3PT, 9/10 FT
3 assist
10 rebounds
3 steals

Best player on the floor was Shon Abaev
37 points, 5 assist, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks
14/27 FG, 6/12 3PT, 3/4 FT
Evans also had 6 turnovers.

I went to watch all of Abaev made shots (one good thing about OTE is content galore) and Evans was only on him for this play (at least on a play Abaev scored on). Idk how it went the other way around but Evans did NOT give up all the points to Shon Abeav

Love Evans

I’d say City Reapers would’ve won if Thomas and Tiller both played, but they didn’t, guess they were on visits, not sure.

Anyone know what Ament’s game is like? I assume he’s a good shooter? With his 6’9” height and athleticism, I can’t help but think of Durant but I know it is dangerous to make comparisons to a generational player.
