Feels like this recent trend of just making the anointed successor and/or interim coach the full time coach has proven to be largely ineffective yet it keeps happening. With the exception of Jon Scheyer finding success at a place with immense resources like Duke, there are so many other examples of this going poorly.

I mean Rodney Terry has been pretty mediocre. Kyle Neptune has been not great. Hubert Davis has been pretty bad. Sanchez at UVA has been pretty bad and yet they still want to give him the full time job. I just don’t get it. Sometimes it’s okay to look outside the program/family for your next coach even if it hurts feelings.

What has Sheyer done? At least relative to what fans expect from Duke. ACC championships are fine and all but I'm sure they want more than that. Maybe they are on the verge of something big this year so we will see. He has continued to bring in the talent and has a loaded roster but that's kind of a given at a place like Duke.

If we don't get the 5th year rule I'd like to see the Vols grab Budd Clark, Elyjiah Freeman, and Brayden Burries. And unless we expect Cade to start at the 4 next year we are going to need a power forward transfer

Who is at the 4 in that lineup? I’d guess Okpara has better foot speed from watching him play this season so maybe JP at the 5?

Either. Estrella played 4 quite a bit with Felix this Summer. JP actually has a decent stretch baseline jumper.

Gotta like that size if JP can provide a little bit of spacing for whoever our pg is. I’d hate to lose the Okpara lob game due to lack of spacing.

Latest rivals ranking top 150 for 2025,

The good news is 2025 commit Amari Evans jumped 20 spots to the number 80 ranked prospect on rivals.
The bad news is 2025 commit Dewayne Brown fell more spots than that to 142 on rivals.

On another note, after a quick look, I don't see any Memphis kids on the list. I can remember when there would be several every year coming out of Memphis. Many of the prospects are at IMG or Link etc and it doesn't list their original hometown but it still makes me wonder if there is less talent than there used to be.

He originally told reporters February. He plays his last game Saturday 3-1. It sounds like he plans to announce Saturday after the game or Monday at school.

I was incorrect in my post yesterday. Burries now may wait until after elimination from state tournament to announce. I guess it’s understandable, but will add an undetermined amount of waiting.

Anybody know if our first commit for next year, Bama big, Brown and his team made the state championship game ? I'm working in Huntsville and one TV station is showing state championship games all day. Might get a chance to check him out. I'm 99% sure, his team won state, last year.
