I feel like vols can get negatively recruited for retirement but if Barnes talks to the kids and is active would certainly remove any concern. The portal and recruiting activity is not that of a coach who's retiring this off season.

It's not like when NCAA investigation looms and vols could get post season ban.

With that Henderson kid committing today, it made me feel at easyle about Barnes coming back next season

A lot can change in just a few years. I remember back in the off season of 2021, this was the starting lineup I was guessing 😆 🤣 😂

PG: Kennedy Chandler/JJJ
SG: Justin Powell/Victor Bailey/Quentin diboundje
SF: JJJ/ Jahmai Mashack
PF: Fulky? Corey Walker
C:?????

Roster is coming together, still need some more bodies, especially a big bad man.

Grove brothers? Kessler? Hatfield?

Probably so, but wouldn’t totally rule it out. I doubt Gillespie got huge money to go there, so guessing he’ll want a raise anyways, Willard has complained about their lack of NIL and Gillespie’s mom is quoted as saying if Zeigler wasn’t here last year that this is likely where her son would be.

Yeah, I wouldn't call it an impossibility by any means. Just maybe less likely minus the coaching change.

I hear that CRB has been passionate and active in combing through portal film with coaches and they’ve been vetting backgrounds and watching film late at night. I guess I wouldn’t expect less from him regardless of his plans, but it sounds hopeful from the outside. Whether he goes or stays, he’s definitely all in on the future right now.

Heck yeah.

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the show sport source, but one of the guys on their was saying a few weeks ago that people around him think he might hang it up.

I want Barnes for another 10 years here. I think he's coaching some of his best basketball of his career lately

We definitely seem to have cast a much wider portal net than years past which is pretty exciting

Also, I'm pretty sure Gillespie is on a much smaller NIL deal than average right now. He committed instantly to Maryland last year before deals exploded and I'm sure that'll need adjusting
